What makes you think 4 or 5 MODS is enough? LOL...

I think 1 reliable mod is sufficient, as long as they have a strict "no bull" attitude. There have been far too many morons on this forum that should have been banned already, eg. rubez.
I know it has been talked about a lot, but creating a new forum might be an option. Most of the regulars on here are getting pretty tired of all the idiots, and would like a forum where we can ban people just because we feel like it. This would obviously be a wise choice if we can't get any moderators. However, it also depends on how many of us would actually go over to the new forum.
In my ideal forum, posting threads like "oh hai guys! mac or pc?" or "how do i remove vocals" would be an instant ban. Then again, a forum where the search actually works would be nice too... |

DJ RANN is a very knowledgeable member. Despite the fact that he and I have had our share of disagreements, I still think he is one of the best members we have here. I can't say the same for two other particular people at the moment...
Rubez was just a straight up moron. Arguing is fine. However, arguing when you should know that you have no idea what you are talking about is not. Likewise, one should admit that they are wrong, when undeniable evidence is presented. Rubez provoked a number of us regulars to consider starting a new forum, about a year ago. We actually did set up the IRC chat, but people didn't idle enough. |

Hey! Don't take offence dude, I've been thinking about it and thats why I included your name on the list of people I'd like as mod, despite the fact that you're new. I mentioned it because it was sort of a backtrack on what I was saying before as I've sort of changed my opinion;)
I Just actually looked at cryophonic's join date, I thought you'd been here since like 2006 dude :haha: Shows how much I know...
Anyway, so we've got the list down to Diginut, Theran, Acton (is he still interested or was he joking?), storyteller, cronodevir, Kitphillips. Is there ANYONE else who wants to put their name in? |

Agreed with all of that, but I think we try and rescue this forum before starting a new one. But its an option to consider. TA needs an update with decent search and all the features of a better forum like ITM IMO, so moving boards could be a good option in some ways, I know I'll be looking to go elsewhere if these issues don't get resolved this time and I assume there are others who feel the same way. |

Honestly, it sounds like you are describing DJ RANN who been shown to be a moron time and again. Just because he knows a few [Read: Few] things about music doesn't mean he isn't a moron. I don't even know how this guy survives in the society, he just randomly explodes into fits of rage and violence for no apparent reason. I think I have demonstrated that plenty of times.
Why would anyone want a mod who just randomly reacts badly to people he doesn't like? |

I fear that some if not all of you would go overboard with the modding and I dare say the majority of you would. You all seem way too eager to mod.
What we need in here is someone who will browse at least once a day and just make sure things are on track. If we have a mod or God forbid multiple mods who just shut down every argument and go trigger happy with the lock and ban buttons, it will just kill this forum.
Arguments are fine and the forum tends to correct itself. We need a mod to remove spammers, lock unnecessary threads and monitor the general situation. A good mod only intervenes as a mod when hits the fan or ideally just before it, and a good mod is not seen as a mod by everyone else at all other times.
4 mods is absolute overkill. 1 and maybe another is more than enough. Who though? Not sure because it seems like most of you listed just want to be mod for the sake of it and will not do a good job in the long run. The only one I could possibly see doing it well is DJ RANN, as long as he doesn't let his mod status slip into his discussion/arguments and make him influence the course of a discussion unfairly. Then again it is a production forum and not a scientific debate forum so sometimes a kick in the right direction is needed.
Oh and yea, just because you dislike someone doesn't mean that they should be banned. Learn to live with it. You can't just ban people in real life, why the would you be able to here? |

If he became mod, I guarantee there will be 10 times more trouble on these forums. |
