Interesting, those who think it should be one mod, give ample reason, those who think there should be 3-4 give no reason at all.

I said possibly not definitely.

Now pick two mods already so we can ridicule them if they do a job :p

Well, its kinda self explanatory, the more mods the more efficient. Overkill ? probably.

You don't strike me as the type of person who lives in the US.

That's because I do not. However restraining orders exist in virtually any western country. They do here :).

Probably not the best place for a discussion on law :p

I think that before anyone gets mod powers, we ought to come up with a list of things that we want a mod to do. Because if we can't agree on that, then we're still going to have a bunch of people complaining about the lack of proper moderation.

It seems like some people want a mod to take a really active role while others want more of a "maintenance" role limited to removing spam and simple stuff like that. So...what do you guys want a mod to do?

Kill spam and the stupid noob topics which are all over the place. Keep topics on topic where necessary.

- Get rid of spam/keep the forum clean
- Keep an eye on general conversations, intervening if things get out of hand and if it is absolutely necessary to do so.
- Watch out for the so called "noob topics", link them to previous threads and if necessary, close the thread.
- If members are being idiotic/abusive etc, advise them on there behaviour and take further steps if necessary.
- Handle possible requests from forum members, anything from "can you sticky this" to "would you mind deleting this spam thread" (If missed)
- An all round contributor to the forum, not just in Mod mode.

:)
