The mod situation, how many do we want? (pg. 4)
View this Thread in Original format
Subtle
If you are a mod people will look up to you, lick your back, look closely at your posts, agree to
everything you say, check out all your music, send tonnes of PMs, go frenzy over closed threads, make new threads about the closed threads etc.

A mods life must be wonderful. :D

Anyways, id like a mod to get rid of spam, and keep threads somewhat ON topic.
Waza
Well i'd vote for 3 mods and if someone is to be banned for instance then the mods will vote between them, since there is only 3 of them then there will always be a winner in the voting.

and yes no sucking up to mods as subtle says thats just wrong and childish.
owien
2 mods seem fair so I voted for two. Why?,because who ever takes on the roll, will be new to the job and needs time to settle into their roll/rolls.

And may decide they don't want it.

This forum has some cool people but I think any type of buzz that's created here gets killd.

This place need some new life injected into it!

we get a lot off people go through this forum but no one would really know.

Some people just come here and read the posts and soke up the info they need, whilst others may brave it out and post up a question. Hence I think stupid noob threds.

just recently I had a new ta member asking me for advice via,pm:wtf:

- Watch out for the so called "noob topics", link them to previous threads and if necessary, close the thread.
- If members are being idiotic/abusive etc, advise them on there behaviour and take further steps if necessary.
- Handle possible requests from forum members, anything from "can you sticky this" to "would you mind deleting this spam thread" (If missed)
- An all round contributor to the forum, not just in Mod mode.

I would expand the "noob" topics to include, "How do I get my bass-lines to sound like Deadmau5'?" and other such rookie-production dilemmas. I don't have anything against Deadmau5, nor do I have anything against a "how did DJ such-and-such make that noise do that, but people aspiring to sound like others just bugs the hell out of me.

Can we have a open poll so that we can see who votes what?

On the amount of mods people want?

I think everyone who has polled has posted their response anyway :).
Storyteller
Lets vote on the candidates. I vote Cronodevir and will lobby for him.

not me and i dont remember what i voted so it would be nice if someone could see. also when were up for voting on who should be mods it should be open too. so that idiots doesnt make up fake accounts to vote more. we need a system, just something, it should go on socal-security-number.

This will be the CronoDevir/Storyteller party. Storyteller as VP.

palm, the chances of these votes meaning squat is little to none. Its for the most part a demonstration of what people want, not a system that will actually get results.

I'd say one is enough - even the far more active forums have just one, I don't think we'd even be able to get any more.

I agree. One, two tops, just to cover longer absences. Any more and you end up with chaos - committee decisions, infighting, s trying to play one off another, and so on.

After a certain point, the bigger a group becomes, the less effective it is. As the old saying goes, none of us is as dumb as all of us.
