| I vote Mr. Mystery, diginut, and subtle for mod. They've been here even before me and have managed to remain active the entire time! |

Mod ain't going to have post delete rights are they?
Locking threads is cool though as we can do the IBFTL game :) |

I vote mr.mystery for the expected wise cracks as the last post before he closes a thread such as "what's a great proggressive hardcore program to make samples" thread.
i say we need at least 1-2 is good. |

Thats really up to the admins I think... I'd prefer not, but if they had the ability to lock threads that would be good. I think there should also be a policy that it takes the agreement of two mods to ban a user who's been here more than a month. Again, we'll have to ask about that.
At the moment the best thing we can do is get some majority agreement on how many mods we want and who they should be. |

He has a few topics on stick, so I could see why you'd say that. |

Just bumping this so that anyone who doesn't log in that often and hasn't seen it can vote...
If theres no more votes in the next couple of days then we'll run with the results as they are now and have another poll to see who we support for the positions. |

For what it's worth, I used to moderate (actually published the site ) for GoMiddle.com - It's owned by Rivals which is a college football recruiting service. I'm a huge college football fan and love my team, so it was great being able to do something I love and get paid while in college. The forum I moderated received a little more action than this one during football season but died down until spring training came around.
Personally, I think we need two active moderators (active is the operative word here.) The biggest problem I see right now are threads being derailed and too much high school drama. If I was a moderator I would do my best to keep everything as professional as possible. I believe it's important to keep posts relevant to the original post so that when people use the search function and find threads they don't pull something up that has veered way off course or turned into a flame war. I would have no problem with a thread veering off course if it was for useful information related to music that just developed over time. It's the trolling and flaming that must be stopped. Don't get the wrong idea though - I don't think a Hitler approach is needed here. Honestly, I think the mods would rarely have to use their powers because everybody on here for the most part conducts themselves in a mature and professional way. As a football fanatic, I always want a game where I sometimes even forget the refs are there. That would be my same hope and approach for this forum.
I'm not for permanent bans on people in the community but I do believe it will take some 24 hour "time outs" on possibly for people to get the message. Obviously the person would have to be constantly bothering and flaming people. The less moderation the better
I am for perma bans for people who come here with 1 post spamming Viagra for sale. |
