No I rolled my eyes because these places recognize the value of providing a convienience in the form of these plastic bags. Notice me quoting the word free.

Some places over here don't even sell you bags anymore, not plastic, not paper, not anything, you have to curb your needs of mindless shopping unless you carry those big bags all the time.

Less mindless shopping is bad for buisness, you must be the first one to recognize that, right?

When i was overseas i kept getting these bags that said fully organic and biodegradable "degrades into hydrogen, water and organic material".

They looked and felt like normal plastic bags and (gasp) were convenient! (the horror!)

Oh I would never deny that the whole green focus is bad for the economy. That's why I wouldn't vote for Dion. :)

I sleep soundly at night knowing that for the most part, i am sound in my principles and have a pretty clear perspective when it comes to certain things. I am also quite happy that i have a good solid opinion and position on life and that i can act accordingly.

In other words, its just a message board. I come here for the entertainment value mostly ;)

So the answer to my question is that you do nothing. You complain ad nauseum about big brother/nanny state and do dick all about it. Ammi right?

The Loblaws Superstore in Milton doesn't even have plastic bags but they have a load of reusable bags and plastic bins that they would be glad to sell you for a small profit. They go on and on about how they are environmentally friendly yet they have plastic bags all over the place for you to put your fresh veggies and fruit in:conf: :conf:

The one thing I like is the parking spots reserved for the environmentally friendly vehicles.....I always park there or the expecting mother spots.

Not quite... i have learned a lot from these dicussions. Furthermore i have become active politically in my riding. I have also come to the conclusion that most Ontarians actually like having the government hold their hand for every little thing.

The last time I went to the Superstore I took a entire roll of those plastic bags and I use them to pick up my dog's crap.

Heard of these, why don't we have them here!?!??

Because they cost more than a plastic bag and provides for less profits to the stores.... right?
