Hell, in addition to my above post actually - I rarely use bags from the grocery store at all. I shop with a granny cart, and just load stuff up w/o using bags 99% of the time - I buy a box of garbage bags once every few months. I use either 2 of the smaller garbage bags a week (if not less), or 1 big green bag every 2 weeks or so .. (and, if I was so inclined I could /really/ reduce this actually...), which seems to me like it results in less plastic bags in the land-fills. As, when I did use grocery bags for garbage, I'd be using a few of them per week.

Good for you! Now what if i passed a law that said what you are doing is wrong and that you must use plastic bags? Youd have a problem with that wouldnt you? Different ways for different people. Im tired of certain elements in society mandating their way or the highway in every microchasm of my life. Enough already!

You should have to buy them because they're a product you use in everyday life, much like everything else. They were free before, and now they're not. Not complicated.

You realize the charge is meant for SHOPPING bags, right? They don't give away these bags at the grocery store for your ing garbage. Idiot.

You're acting as if they're charging you a nickel for every plastic bag ever created. , nice use of logic there, retard.

They're just tired of giving out free bags...

But that's fine, there are many ways to get around it...

Not a big deal...

If its just the supermarkets doing it privately its bad enough. And they are all doing it at the same time. Arent there laws against collusion?

But the worst part is that the government is involved YET AGAIN.

It is a big deal as it sets more precedent for even more interference and social engineering by the nanny state.

You dont need to insult as it really dilutes anything else you have to say ;)

Thats the nice thing about recycling though. Using things for purposes that are secondary to its main use. I recycle my grocery bags by using them as garbage bags, or to carry secondary items. etc etc. But recycling is only good if the government controls it i guess?

I think people are missing the point here....it has nothing to do with the cost of the bags...its the fact that the government body is making a law stating that you have to pay for the plastic bags.

What's next....having to pay for a receipt?

No, I definitely need to name call/insult. It gives me a feeling of pleasure. Thanks for telling me what I need/don't need to do though. Kind of hypocritical of you, isn't it?

Dont give them any ideas.

Companies are trying to make you pay more for paper bills in the mail. "for the environment" of course.

Of course you still have to print them out at home at YOUR COST but no one ever mentions that!

So then why don't you stick it to the government and find alternative methods instead?? I think THAT'S the real point here. Stop playing the ing victim here, god. You all sound like retards.
