Heard of these, why don't we have them here!?!??
Because they cost more than a plastic bag and provides for less profits to the stores.... right?  |
You forgot that its also politically expedient to capitalize on ignorance and make plastic bags the enemy. |

Did you bother reading Flecs post?? The fact that they're charging 5 cents a bag stops people from mindlessly asking for bags that they don't need. |
right - the guy works for one of the stores, so his post must be holy bible :D
| quote: | | Sure you can play the "Oh but I use those bags for my garbage" even though Sobey's and Loblaw's bags are usually too small to fit in a regular garbage bin. That's how it has potential environmental benefits, aka. less mindless wasting. |
false - bags fit perfectly our garbage bin both in the kitchen and in the washroom, and are in fact too big for my smaller bin in my room
| quote: | | If you honestly think you're being screwed over by this somehow then write a letter to the CEO/Marketing VP of Sobeys, Loblaws, No Frills, etc and tell them how insulting you think it is that they're trying to pass off an "obvious" cash grab as an environmentally-friendly program. |
and maybe I will :) I wrote letters before, and I stay hopefull. |

Not quite... i have learned a lot from these dicussions. Furthermore i have become active politically in my riding. I have also come to the conclusion that most Ontarians actually like having the government hold their hand for every little thing. |
thread over... today's rant brought to us by the Conservative Party of Canada? |

I know....it makes no sense....reserving parking close to the store for vehicles that are environmentally friendly and making gas guzzlers drive throughout the parking lot looking for a parking spot. |
