Of course it sucks, I live in Oakville and got a job in Markham, takes me 3 days to get to work by public transit.
Yes, its all transit problem, my own choices have nothing to do with that. |
So we should stay in our own neighbourhoods?
How about we get better infrastructure?
In Europe i know people who commute from north london to surbiton (south of london) daily with no car. Why? good transit!!
With no transit we need cars... so its one or the other. Bikes are good for a trip to the local convenience store or the bank 5 months per year. Thats about it! |

My biggest pet peeve in this city is the cyclist that don't obey the rules of the road. You wanna be treated like another vehicle on the road?...that's fine, but from now on I want to also be able to:
-drive on the sidewalks
-drive the wrong way on one way streets
-run stop lights and stop signs
-use the pedestrian walkways to stop traffic in order for me to go through an intersection
-weave in and out of traffic downtown
...and when it suits my needs the best, pick which side of the road I want to drive on |

To be honest..this situation gets me so heated that i have to refrain on typing a book full of profanity on here...
everyone who thinks that the city has to accommodate people who bike, over drivers..seriously...i'm so sick of whiny, preaching, "pseduo progressive", judgemental, "i live in the heart of downtown so i can bike everwhere" nuts.
We have bike lanes that aren't even being used!! So in essence this isn't a functional decision..it's all about OPTICS..it makes certain populations feel all warm and fuzzy thinking that their perfect utopian society is coming to fruition...
and yes exraver you moron..cars will one day become obsolete as urban sprawl will somehow be eliminated and we will all transport ourselves everywhere via beams..
the world is changing..or better yet..you're stickin your head deeper into the sand.. |

| And why the hell do people walk and run on the road, when there's a perfectly good sidewalk 2 feet beside them? |

I miss Sept 2008, when gas was 1.38, can't wait till it comes back, it was so much fun listening to all of you whiny bitches.
Keep bending over at the pumps, my friends, the end is near. |

well if you can give me an option on how to commute with 150lbs of tools everyday other than a car then I'd love to hear it...otherwise stop being so narrow minded, some people actually rely on cars for a living. |

That means transit prices and taxes will go up too. They have to get their power from somewhere ;) |

lol. also, i guess they don't understand that no one will even want to bike on Jarvis. I wouldn't walk or bike along there. i would rather not get mugged/raped/shot, thanks. it's also difficult to pick up hookers on a bicycle. |
As a resident of Jarvis, it's quite evident that you're speaking out of your arse, that's just as ignorant statement as Jay's hysteric cyclophobia.
Maybe reading this might actually help you understand what we residents of Jarvis want:

So, how often do you use Jarvis? Isn't it a whole point of this thread? |
