I agree with you on that one, and its free!!

I think I have something that might the requirements of this challange, I just have to see how many samples are used. All my Bass/Leads/Pads always come from a synth, I only use samples for Drums/FX.

^ The goal is either to use the samples in the ZIP file, or to make your own drums with a synth. So in other words, either use one synth for everything, or that synth plus the five samples in the ZIP.

Here is my entry... downloaded sample pack, produced, auditioned and uploaded in exactly one hour...

Used all the samples, lots of time stretching and sample rate adjustments... prodigious amounts of reverb and effects.

The synth used is a from scratch pad patch in Albino 3.

Just Cubase's normal facilities, Time Stretch and Resample. I wish I was motivated enough to install FL on my PC. It has some of the best time stretching algorithms built in. You can get some reeally warped sounds with it.

Most of the sounds in there are reversed, one is the bass drum and the clap mixed together...

Ok I gotta withdraw from this challenge.

I wasted too much time for something that doesnt even sound good enough to be amature.
Plus I got involved in another track that distracted me.

I couldn't get a kick I was satisfied with, plus a snare, clap, and the percussions in general all sounded like imo.

I guess I'm one of those people who can't live w/out their samples lol

I think you're over-thinking the challenge. Just throw some together, distort stuff, eq stuff, and try not to think too much. Also... don't think about what direction the track should take. If you worry yourself over "something not fitting" ... you're doing it wrong.

It's supposed to be a creative exercise, kind of like those free-writing things you'd do in class.

Cool track, is that the original kick?

I'm having the same trouble, but the challenge is good, and the not stressing too much about how amazing it sounds is making it kinda fun. Mine sounds crap (like all my stuff usually does anyway), but I'm having fun

Yeh I kinda know what you're saying but if I submit a piece of track now, when I go to submit stuff in the future noones gonna wanna listen to it.
I may actually just scrap it and start something else completely, thanks for the motivation though lol.
