The more people that listen to EDM mean the more successful DJs, labels, clubs, promoters, etc. become leading to more growth in the scene.

You need people to support new clubs, djs, events/festivals....

There will always be an 'underground'- there is an underground in EVERY genre. But the idea of more people loving and supporting the music that I love excites me. The music and the scene is going to evolve, if it didnt something would be very wrong. Get over it.

I also think its funny when people complain about 103.5 music or music being in a video game. A lot of people in the scene heard their first EDM track on the radio or on the TV and thought 'hmmm cool Im going to check this out.' The scene needs new people in it to replace the old ones who are 'growing upn getting married, and leaving the clubs.'

If KOS produced a track and then it ended up on 103.5 (yes I know its unlikely) would you stop liking it? Like what you like, it shouldn't matter who eles is listening to it or where its being played.

this topic has been done to death but remember....bigger doesn't always mean better.

I dont have a problem with artists "exanding their horizons" but they should be smart about it.

Use an alias or a different name so as to make yourself into different brands. When i hear the name "Mistress Barbara" I expect techno not wishy washy whatever the hell that video is LOL

That music may appeal to others but probably not to current MB fans.

Good example is Cajmere for house but Green Velvet for techno and live acts. Although when he started doing concert style gigs i was highly disappointed.

Ok. I agree with you on your last point. A headlining DJ is not always mainstream...or most popular shall we say...just to change up this boring mainstream word which is becoming so mainstream...

So, of course I'll still support KOS if he rises to that status, and i think he will! As long as he's still as talented as he is now, why wouldn't I!

...and if he happened to headline the Guvernment Main room one day?

I guess i'm out of it, all along i thought this kos was the canadian hip hop guy. When I saw him dj'ing at TIL a while back I thought he had branched off in a different direction, pulling a Mistress Barbara if you will.

So this guy is an up and coming dj? I take it he's pretty good?

changing your skin colour would definitely be considered branching off in a different direction!

I saw her bitchy side when she decided not to play a rooftop patio party in Miami because she wasn't 'feeling it.' Either that, or she realized how ugly her outfit looked and left. She did remember who I was though. Maybe I scared her? :p
