That's interesting, because I talk to every adult like if they're a child. But then again, I'm a pretentious . |
Most adults are pretty ing stupid, so I don't blame you. I find I do the same sometimes. |

| I was a good Uncle because I was there for them and they were there for me when I needed a friend or a company, we are brothers, the only family I've got. My two nieces had alot of high school flings which I didn't approve of, so for me it was a learning curve (to understand the needs of my nieces, while still trying to impose a respectable uncle figure, that's probably why i'm a hard ass). Sometimes I would question their weekend activities (like a dad) but that's because they didn't grow up with a strong paternal figure; It was actually a good thing, one of my nieces is graduating top of ther class and will probably apply to schools in the East Coast, my nephew works at a very important bank in Florida (he's 22) while studying part-time. They all live at home with my sister and work togheter in order to keep the house clean, although they are spoiled in alot of ways, but I think they are the least spoiled kids I've met because of the hardship they encountered at such a young age... |

| No child should ever be spoken to "like a child". They aren't ing stupid. I can't stand when people treat children like morons. |

I dunno. I've met some stupid kids in my time.
My nephew - all 8 months of him - should be a bright kid. He's got good genes. Already talking a little, about ready to start walking. |

| I hope my niece will see me more as an uncle she can come too with problems that maybe she is afraid to speak to her parents about. I think I will be a good uncle.....I already know my niece is going to be spoiled rotten. Besides, someone has to tell her about all her daddy's little secrets :D |

i have 1 niece and six nephews, i like two and i can tolerate the others. i have no approach to being any type of 'special' uncle. since i live close to 5 of them (the other two live in germany) i don't buy them anything special nor do they need it.
since i was 13 when my oldest sister had her first kid i had problems with the idea me being an uncle since i was that young. i never set any guidelines of discipline with how they call me or how they look up to me. my older brother is stricted about that but i never really saw the point of it. |

| I will be an uncle in a short 4 months. Once she is old enough to do things with, I will be doing stuff. |
