She wasn't calling it a hole, you asked why he would he might do it, and as you can see from the list below, it is number six on the reasons to trademark a name chart.
Reasons to trademark a name... 1) It instantly raises your stock price if you are a publicly traded company. 2) Protects you in case there is a personal injury lawsuit, aka slip and fall. 3) Stops people from incorporating your name onto t shirts, bumperstickers, etc. 4) Pays you royalties everytime Casey Kasem or other top radeo personalities mention you on the air. 5) Opens the door for future merchandising (action figures, fridge magnets, etc) 6) Stops your name from being associated with some hole. |

yeah, they do a house night saturdays i think.
Funky, i wasn't calling it a hole, but since you don't know either way, a trademark protects you.
even if the place is not a hole and makes tons of money, you can get in on the action if they break your trademark.

yeah I was a bit confused with your comment :) cos you mentioned that it looks like a nice place, but then the hole comment came after :P
if Del trademarks(ed) TOTA then he has to trademark NYTA and all other variations too! :) |
