Excessive Photography in Nightclubs (pg. 4)

The video thing I dont get. I've taken a couple vides before only to realize they are ty and I never watch them.... However videos often equal great promotion for DJs. Some people do manage to get some good quality videos (such as Kotsy) and some of these videos get a lot of views on youtube. When Im unsure of a DJ coming to town youtube videos are often a good way to make a quick opinion.

I dont mind cameras in a club. They dont affect my night and I love photos. :)

A professional should try to make the club and patrons look good and not take or post the bad ones. But I realize that not all photographers work for the club.

I do have a problem with professional photographers who dont act professional.

It's funny that you say that because when I was at DC 10 it was one of my goals to get onto a youtube video. In hindsight it's probably good that I did not get on one.

Speaking of which. I just experienced this today as this thread was developing. so random. but anyways, there is a photo of me at canada day guv event (chinamon took it) but i had no idea it was actually on the guv website too. a co-worker who just started into clubbing in toronto was looking at random photos and low and behold i am there on the screen. she right away started asking me if that was me, was i at the event, blah blah blah. i would rather that not happen. lol. at least i was smiling nicely.

GREAT THREAD! The last few times I've been to footwork, everyones favourite new photographer "Jill" has been absolutly killing me with her flashes. That is so strong i can be all the way across the club and get flashed and be blind for about 5 seconds after. And I mean...take 1 pic here...1 pic there...1 pic of friends and what not, thats fine. But when your taking 100 pictures in the span of 30 minutes...innocent bystanders are getting ing retnal damage just from standing in the background. s absurd. I even try to look away when i see her lift the camera i but i still get caught and its like will smith is zapping me with his ing neutralizer. . Too much is right.

PS. Jill, nothing against you or your pics. Just sayin.

I've heard of this rule from several people but have never had them check my pockets etc for a camera on the way in. I guess they only worry about it if they see you about to take a picture/video

it thats like saying lets not have any lights and lasers in clubs because some people don't like flashing lights. I have no problem with cameras in the club, I personally think its ridiculous not to allow them especially when you pay admission to get inn.

I don't mind being in random shots and videos. Some royalties for my face exposure would be nice though

Yea I agree ...

I should also be allowed to bring in a mickey of vodka (amongst an assortment of other things) ESPECIALLY since I already paid my admission to get in.

ps. I agree with most of the sentiments in the thread.

I especially don't understand the dancefloor pylons that spend their whole night taking crappy sounding, pooly lit vids.

meh w/e
