| While working as a club photographer I photoshopped the sketchy backgrounders out of pictures where people were posing. It's not that hard and saves some embarrassment. |

From a flash point of view, they've never bothered me... at least at Guv (it's the only place I basically go to). There's so much going on from a lighting point of view that I never notice when flashes go off.
As for video... well I can't really put my two cents worth since I'm GUILTY as charged! Although for what it's worth, I've always try to be as careful as I possibly can to not include I've taken in the finished product. Stuff I found during editing such as ppl smoking, ppl drinking in certain areas far beyond last call, just to name a couple. I don't want anyone, or the club for that matter, getting in because of me. Technically it's in vain since the many ppl that upload to Youtube post the very stuff I'm careful not to include, but at least it won't come from me I hope. |

No cameras too, actually none at afterhours. But those aren't "clubs" to begin with. Back in the Sona days, the cheapest digital camera cost about 1000$ and it was a ty 2 megapixel. |

Thank heavens! Could you imagine if someone documented a Sunday there? A sea of ping pong ball eyes would surface. :nervous: :nervous: |

Some of you are talking about a night club like its an epic adventure, once in a lifetime, never to be seen again. 'Stop documenting, and just dance.' You can do that 7/7 nights in Toronto, and for hours on end, during any one of those nights.
Sometimes it is just plain fun playing with a camera in a night club. Where else are you going to get that type of light show, lasers, fog machine, and diverse crowd? Before I broke my digi cam, I loved messing around with the settings, to see what type of shots I could get. I am no pro, but it still gives you the opportunity to have fun with it.
Yes, I agree, don't stand there the whole night with the record button on. But, something has to be said for recording a moment, or moments from your exact perspective, with your eye, and your interest. Pics of a night from a pro photog are great, but they are not your pics. |

Funny, I start with the exact same premise that you do, but come to the opposite conclusion. The way I see it, it's just a club, it's not a once-in-a-lifetime event (not usually at least), you can go out and "re-live" the experience any time, so it's about as interesting to document that as it is to document a day at work. |
