i ADORE everything about this show. i've always loved vampires but so many shows/books/movies involving them are horrifying cheesy. not true blood! i think the characters are fantastic - i love them all! jessica and hoyt are the cutest but i think something bad is going to happen with them soon. and season 2 is intense. the episode before last was totally mental and kinda disturbing (that scene with bill and whatserface and that couple? yikes). i can't wait for a new episode every week! i haven't found a show i like this much, probably since six feet under, but i think i like this more. also, normally i hate opening sequences but this one is great. so hot.
also, it must be said that eric is like THE hottest thing ever. grrrrr. he's such an . a really ridiculously hot . i love it. he can suck on my neck anyday. :p LOL |

my girlfriend made me watch a few episodes of season one and I must say I'm getting a little sick of all these vampire movies/shows. The vampires I remember wanted to kill humans and figure out efficient ways of doing so. None of this love story with humans...boring

Sounds like you need to be watching 30 Days of Night
The vampires arent friends of humans in that movie... they are def evil.
(This reminds me that I still needa buy that movie!)
And I like better the concept of vampires that aren't unequivocally evil by nature.
I like the idea that vampires can or cannot chose to retain a semblance of their human lives they previously lead.
If they wanna feed on humans bc they no longer identify with them (bc they aren't humans anymore), then that's fine; it's their call to make. Humans, after all are their natural and most satisfying food source.
But if vampires want to "blend in," interact with humanity still and/or feel guilty about killing humans (much like many humans that feel guilty about killing animals and therefore choose to be either vegetarians or vegans), well, that's the vampires' call too. If they have a conscious or moral compass that makes them feel they should value human life, to chose to try to defeat and conquer their natural urges, all the most respect and power to them. ;) |

Season 1 wasn't too bad. I found it way too lame at times though. Some of the characters are extremely annoying/predictable and some of the actors are just plain horrible. I found the story and concept very intriguing though, so I wish they would take a more serious approach in season 2.
I'll probably watch season 2 once all of the episodes have aired. |

Been watching since it first came out.
There were actually a few episodes from season 1 that were leaked before they aired, so I had to wait a while before they finally caught up.
One of my favourite shows on TV right now. HBO has been on fire lately :D
I missed last weeks episode and forgot to PVR it. The only thing I don't like is lately TMNonDemand has been lacking with the HD. They always seem to be 1 week behind on posting TV Shows in HD.

I've been loving vampires since high school, many, many years ago :D
(but you're right still, they def are the "next IN thing" presently)

yeah i thought that eric was an too but when they showed how he became a vampire and the most recent episode really makes him a much deeper/better character. love him!
i actually love every character. i feel sooooooo bad for sam, can that guy ever get a break. |
