Just finished watching Season 1! This show is awesome. There hasn't been one episode or scene that I didn't enjoy. Greatness all the way. I had to finish Season 1 so fast because the ending of every episode kept me wanting more and to find out what happens next.
Lafayette is hands down the BEST character. If he was a real person I'd befriend him. So many laughs! :p
Next up, Season 2.

In the end, he was tired of life... he was over 2040 years old... he accepted that and wanted to end it... fair enough. Its not like it was some choice he made rashly or bc of senility... he wanted to "burn" in the first place... its why he gave himself over to that damned church of the light in the first place... to burn and maybe effect a change somehow... prevent it from being someone else...

They did. A GREAT deal over the books (where he's know as "Godfrey").
His character (though they greatly changed it... in very significant ways) died just as suddenly in the books. His death in the show played out similarly to how it was in the books.

gotta say, i wasn't as sad as all of you about godric dying. i don't know, i just didn't feel as attached to him as i am to the regular characters. and yeh he was cool and progressive in his beliefs, but imo he didn't have as much 'awesome' in him as eric does for example.
i might've missed it, but is Nan Flanagan like the top of top of the vampires? or just the AVL?

i dont think it was because i was necessarily attached to Godric, but it was sad to see him die because of what he stood for. Maryann scares the crap out of me!!! she really creeps me out lol
