Review for Stereo Sunday (Roger Sanchez):

After returning to the temple after a long time, i was instantly blown away, they put so much effort, time and money into that place that it looks completely different. Hardwood floors, two massive screens to the left and right, new system, new DJ both (which is sick) its basically what my friend said, "this is the stereo of 2080 lol" looks so slick, new...totally mindblowing. Although I have to say it lost its underground stereo feel, but im sure they did that on purpose, no complaints really

all in all: HAPPY STEREO IS BACK WITH A BANG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Agree with this all except the Underground feel. Walking up the stairs and entering the seating area/bathroom area totally gave me that dingy undersground feel. Sunday moreso than Saturday. Sunday they pulled out all the low red coloured lights and kept the main room filled with smoke and flashing strobes. Saturday felt more like a circus.... Sunday felt like a deep dark tunnel.... Stereo is intense and I love every second of it!

the beyer afterparty blew me away as well. All the performers, the stereo screen behind, strobes... I couldn't believe it was 3am when it was. Could never get an experience like this in Toronto. The techno was off the wall from Clive, Audiofly, Beyer... I was musically blown away. Couldn't dance too much because I was spent but enjoyed the comfy chairs and some chair jammin'....

Please do this every Labour Long weekend.....

I wish I had paid better attention to start/end and found out the set times for that party - I was exhausted by 10:30 and called it a night, if I had realized sooner it went until 3am I would of made more of a point to rest until 7-8pm instead of showing up at 5pm.

Meh, with as much partying I did that weekend - not going to kill me to miss a DJ or two :)

and beyer 9-11? am i right?

Clive Henry was late so Tiga went on, then Martin Buttrich, then one guy from Audiofly vs Clive Henry (approx 10pm - 1am) then Beyer (1am - close).

Clive Henry was late so Desyn Massiello and Maher replaced him, then Tiga went on, then Martin Buttrich, after that one guy from Audiofly vs Clive Henry (approx 10pm - 1am) and then Beyer (1am - close)

Amen.

I'm still speechless. I don't even know where to begin.. But I will say that the parties all weekend provided the best performances I've ever seen, especially the Monday party. So much so, that my friend and I decided to recreate a cirque de soleil act in our hotel afterwords (epic fail, lol).

:D I love my life.

Also... Martin Buttrich dropping tune of the night Latex - The Porcupine had me in mind shambles. <3

Arriving to hearing drum n bass coming from DESYN (of all of people) was quite a shock! He switched it up nicely before the end of his set though.

Most of my crew and I were there for Tiga and Beyer. Tiga played at the pre-announced time of 7:30 till 9:30 almost exactly. As a big Tiga (ILN) fan, I enjoyed his set, even if it didn't fit with what was to come after and even it was hot and cold, 1 good track followed by 1 so-so track. The Shoes mashup remix was mental.

Buttrich after Tiga didn't really fit so well. Got kinda bored after a while then went to eat a $12 burger and have a $6.50 beer. MAN I missed piknic prices, that's for sure :P.

He got off around 10:45. I was really hoping for Beyer at that point. There was a tall, bald sound guy on stage at some points (not Beyer), so I got my hopes up. But it was Audiofly after and by that point we bounced at 11:45.

Was the turnout much lower than expected? It seemed the grounds/fence were much larger than the actual crowd around the DJ booth. There was even a bar all the way at the back that no-one was even visiting. By the time I left just before midnight, it seemed the crowd was VERY thinned out which is normal considering most people had to work Tuesday, which is the worst considering some major acts were still left.

Some girl on the FB event said that 3/4 of the people had left by the time Beyer got on for his 75 min set around 1am? That true?

All in all, a great way to spend a Sunday evening. The sound/lighting/dancers/screens were amazing. The cover (20$) was very justified and the lineup pretty hard to beat. It's just too bad more people didn't come and the bar was so pricey. (12$+tip vodka redbull? Are we in Ibiza?)
