joined when I was 15. I'm turning 24 in a few weeks. I take breaks from time to time, maybe I'll take one now. |

I'm so pissed. After looking at the house last night, and getting a better idea of how furniture placement is going to go, I've realized we most likely can't get the couch we want, unless it comes in a left facing set-up. :/
We also have SO much painting to do. Ugh. So overwhelming. |

that sucks but just be patient and do a lot of searching and you'll find something you love equally as much as the one you wanted originally, i'm sure of it. |

Oh yeah for sure...it's just a pain because we have NO furniture. And It's sorta hard to start decorating/buying more pieces without the couch.
But w/e. Gotta worry about ing paint and carpet first. . |

well as long as you can narrow it down to a couple of colors (meaning, either or, not a multi colored couch) that you decide on for the couch and then just buy everything else according to those solid colors you're going to have. go w/ a really light beige color and you can't go wrong with accents.
this is what i'll be attempting to pull off when we move. obviously a much cheaper version and minus the marble floors lol

or if you prefer a dark couch

if you don't want to paint, go to the local unemployment office and check the adds at the front door (the ones you rip off with the phone numbers at the bottom not actually inside). There is a company in several provinces that takes only unemployed people to paint, and every time i have used them they do a great job and i can be lazy.
they are also fast and cheap compared to a real contractor. |

Love that.
Yeah I wanna work with a "new neutral" color palette. Brown/grey/charcoal/white. Looking at blues and oranges as accent colors.
So far we're sure that the walls will be a soft smoky grey. I was thinking of doing a stripe pattern on one wall with a gloss, but now I'm not so sure. So much ing painting, lol. There's crown molding in every room, which is gonna be a ing pain in the ass. |

i prefer plain walls with lots of art work but that sounds cool. i can appreciate a nice colorfully painted room.
*that sounds really nice though (the gray wall and then a striped one). |

Yeah no. My bf's dad would never do that, lol. Me and my bf are doing it, and his dad and sister are gonna help too. His dad painted BOTH of their houses himself, he certainly knows what he's doing.
A lot of other work has to be done anyways. The main floor bathroom was leaking into the basement so his dad has to get someone in to rip up the walls and insulation, fix the pipes, and have everything redone. So he's gonna rip up all the carpet in the basement at the same time and either recarpet it, or have it tiled. |

Yeah that's why I'm leaning towards not doing the stripe...because we want to hang art. Will be too much going on. |
