there are drawbacks though.
if i drink too much it can take me 2 full days to recover properly now.
i used to be able to stay up for 3 days straight and go to work on the monday and survive through the day. If i do that now i will either die or see the badger. |
I seriously never had a terrible hangover until my 25th birthday. It's been ever since, lol. |

Why is that hangovers get more common and intense as you age, anyway? Jenny? :-P |

It's been the opposite experience for me, so far. When I was 19 I had the worst hangovers of my life. Now I know how to get completely faced and skip most of the hangover. It's just something you learn with experience. (The "oh, I need to stop here for a while and ride out this drunkenness for a bit or I'm gonna feel like tomorrow" moment.)
Get fairly drunk early, stop drinking for a while, then nurse/supply your drunkenness at a reasonable pace throughout the rest of the evening for ultimate win.
I did this last night, and here I am at work. :) |

Lol, probably a combination of increased alcohol consumption with the body's slowing ability to recover/repair itself. I think the scary thing is realizing is happens sooner than you think.
I mean, especially if you've already been a drinker for years...your liver has already taken quite a beating. |

also because we no longer drink 2$ drafts so we can have money left over for ramen, instead we pound back bottles of nice hooch that make your poops burn like ben in a dirndl.
and yes we tend to need to drink more. I thought i was a heavyweight when i was younger. When i see these kids out on the town now, i lol at how they can't hold their liquor. |

That's a good point, I never thought of that, lol.
I also drink a lot more wine than I used to, which is ing terror on the body. Some days after a night of wine I can barely get out of bed. |

yeah if i drink a whole bottle of wine i am usually asleep pretty quickly after.
single malt scotch or whiskey is what fuels my illegitimate children habit now. |

i read an article about wine hangovers and how it has something to do with this chemical that the grapes release during fermentation.
i'll google it when i'm not feeling lazy. |

Sort of similar for me. When I started drinking I didn't know when to stop and never drank water or ate anything to go along with the liquor. After I started doing those things, the hangovers got much less worse.
Recently I have cut out drinking entirely so I can lose weight, though. :-P |
