the leafs are actually a worse team now and will finish last almost for sure meaning that boston will get the first overall pick.
that sucks hard...i hate the bruins so much.
letter of intent? burke just made a bigger mess out of the already big one he made last summer.
the leafs are screwed for another 5 to 6 years.
they have 0 draft 1st round picks for 2 years, absolutely no offence...the flames won that trade because they dumped phaneuf and his huge contract, and addressed their goal scoring problems.
phaneuf has had an awful year. |

| tbh Jay I dunno if it will be a bad deal for the leafs. It's a big one for sure, but at the end of the day I've seen in many sports people move to new pastures & come out fighting and he has the talent to do it, so it's mental/attitude. |

the leafs got the best player of the deal in phaneuf, so in a way they win.
the way that they lose is that they still have salary cap problems to fill the holes in their roster at forward. the leafs will be a team that misses the playoffs for the next few years with a better defense/goalie.
instead of losing 5 to 1 they will lose 3 to 1.
who do they have up front?
the answer is simple...no one.
they don't have the cap room to go after a big player..and even if it did it takes more than one guy to carry an offense.
The marlies (the farm team) is among the worst in the AHL...so youth isn't going to help. They don't even have any first round picks for the next 2 years. |

i heard about this too, but nothing is confirmed.
the poor guy never seems to be on a playoff team (well except for last year.)...I don't know if the rangers will make it to be honest.
One thing i know for sure is that my habs won't:p |
