Wow, I'm glad I didn't go. My ass would have went to jail if I was told to leave after paying that much. I've tried to fight refunds before (in my case I had half my face ruined and my ID stolen on NYE, figured someone would have a heart and refund the insane amount I paid), and it really doesn't happen.
I did get it taken care of the next year, I recall getting into the NYE event or something else for free. I hope you guys can get something for your hassle. |

| Yeah cause we felt the need to listen to the claims of "sold out, sold out, only 25 hard copies left.." and plan ahead. What a joke. |

i planned ahead because of the mess two years ago (line was slow two years ago, not as bad as his year), so i got there a 10:15ish. i still almost didnt make it in (i had to come back at 1:30 after the cops left). if that's not planning ahead, i will be sre to camp at the place next time 24 hrs before the show.
they are the ones that need o plan ahead. they knew from two years ago that it took forever to get people in. seems like this year they were more concerned on getting additional money at the door. |

I didn't attend the show two years ago, but those around me in line said that it was a great success compared to last night's cluster, in terms of crowd control, processing the line, and all that. Even if everyone had made it into the show, we would have deserved at least a partial refund. We arrive at 10pm and wait 2+ hours for a show that only lasts until 4am? Then, the event organizers exploit the mayhem to make an extra buck by demanding an additional $20 for access? Those of us who refused to be extorted automatically lost 30-40% of the value of our tickets just due to the wait.
The inevitable protest that ensued then caused us to lose 100% of the value of our tickets. That's $67 for me (yeah, go ahead, I'm a dumbass), but it's even worse for the people who paid for tickets, drove in from out of state, paid $20 for parking, paid an extra $20 for "express tickets," and then still couldn't get in.
I suspect that the police were expecting something. I approached one around 10pm to ask whether I would get a ticket for parking across the street (for free!). He replied that every available cop in the area was allocated for the event, and it was very unlikely they'd cross the street at all, since the show was enough to "keep their hands full." Well, he was right!
Plenty of people made it into the show, but A LOT of people were swindled. If you want to read some more accounts, check out the comments to my video and the FB event page (and Devin's wall):

wow... that sucks. would really love to hear what the promoters have to say, but usually when it comes to like this they like to keep their mouth shut.
good luck in getting refunds for those who will try. |

| So reading someone's account, were they really using pepper spray inside the venue? I've talked to some folks who got there early and had no idea any of this even went on... |
