Okay, thats what I thought but wasnt sure if I mixed up the dates. Its a toss up for me cos I like both John and Christopher, but I think I'll be doing Ruby Skye this time, mainly cos Christophers set was so wicked at Burning Man this year, he destroyed Opulent Temple. |
do both brotha! j00f will be spinning until 4 am+ right? |

six reasons why i'll be at 1015 instead of ruby:
- main room is better set up for pumping psy
- production factor is superior at 1015 (lights, visuals, kryo)
- for the above reasons and more j00f is more interactive than c law at the decks
- i'll be at ruby on friday and don't need to be there 2 days in a row (don't really like the sat crowd at ruby either)
- c law is always here, j00f is not
- mike and adnan in the rizo room |

I disagree with you on the production. I hate going to 1015 just for that reason. When there isnt a great turnout, you look to production to boost the overall vibe (looking outside the music standpoint). 1015 has nothing. The new decoration spinning things - really? That was the new massive improvement? The main room is deadlooking and dry. It needs an entire rework. least ruby has a better look going for it to push the vibe more with the crowd. I would go with Ruby between the two cause of that and not the music. DJs hate its setup, but the vibe is better in my opinion when people arent packing either place. |

| deadlooking and dry is how i would describe ruby's production value 90% of the time. |

Last time I was there was for Push's set. Not sure if you had the new lighting up then but if you did, it really didn't add that much to it. Maybe design flaw to placement of the lighting or the use of the lighting control - not sure. Will be coming to the bay area soon and im sure ill drop by for a show since the bookings are great, but the value put into the club just doesn't show - or didn't at Push's set and previous events. |

| the booth in the main room is what makes 1015 IMO. other than that i could do with zero production so long the music is good and why i love the compound. table with decks in the middle of the room and speakers all around you. thats it! sometimes theres visuals or a light or two. |

:) :) Rizo, 1015 was made a long time ago even before the dj booth got it's make over. I dont know how young you were when i was partying at 1015 back in the early mid 90's even before i was with Nancy. haha . Just stating that Taj and I and many old schoolers on here have seen 1015 go through it's up's and downs. Ruby doesnt have that appeal to me like 1015. Thats just my opinion.. :) :)
Rizo, I'll see you later tonight. :) |

I am interested in seeing this...
...because the one thing I've _personally_ thought 1015 needs to STOP doing is adding new lighting in the main room. Seriously.
But the whole 2010 note.....ABOUT F'N TIME (not directed towards you....but to you know who! :-p)!!! I cantz waitz!!!
I personally would have rather waited for the main room to be worked on next year and then make and lighting additions or changes based on what changes are made. Because what'll happen if all these lighting additions don't work well with the changes made in the end? Maybe that was all kept in mind when adding the the lights, but adding lights is not gonna get more people to come at this point. Prob because there are already so many lights, the additions will have little impact with the crowd overall.
If the big changes to the room next year are the type that peeps have been begging for, for years, then that's where you can make the biggest impact with the lighting. I hope so, because then I'll be SO STOKED for the place!
No matter what, I'll always consider the place my true second home.
It's a good time to really overhaul a club if you are gonna do it. A big business decision considering the recession, but if done right it could really, really benefit during the recovery of the recession and when things are good again. People who have been staying in more lately will be looking for a places to go again and it's almost like a reset button goes off. All clubs are game for them!
BTW, with the changes to the main room coming, will Ten115 be closing its doors for any period???
How about a new name?? :-p Please??? Just to help with the public image of the place (since new names to give a lot of clubs new hope, so as long as all the other changes done with it are done well...which is actually rare in itself, but it happens!!!) :-p
In other news, if I was in SF this weekend, I'd def be at 1015 over Ruby on the Saturday night. Sans worrying about "production" differences between the two places. The whole lineup is just much more solid. Frenchy le Freak with CL? Are you SERIOUS? Come on. |
