Sorry man. I'm not hating, just making an observation here and wishing that it could get sorted cos I can only go to one show.

This has happened a couple of times that I can remember and the SF dates always been on CL's websites weeks before it showed up on J00Fs. Dunno why it keeps happening, wish you guys could sort it out.

I fully agree. I would never try & book an equal headliner on same night. unlike other promo groups.

SOLUTION: We find one guy who's going to Ruby Skye to see Christopher Lawrence and duct tape a high-end recording device to his back.

I don't understand why Ruby Skye (and 1015, for that matter) don't automatically record the sets and either play them live on the radio, or allow them to be listened to/played back later on.

I would be absolutely willing to shell out $5 to listen to a 2-4 hour MP3 recording of the set played by the headliner or whatever.

    djs sometimes
  • have exclusive material that they dont want to be recorded esp at a high or decent quality
  • have contracts stating no recording or broadcasting of sets
  • are not happy with their set for it to be shared
honestly a lot of sets get recorded, just never shared publicly from both 1015, ruby and other venues :tongue3

if the headliner ok's a recording we do record. some headliners will have tunes they dont want released to public since they may new or event not out for months to come. it can be complicated. its not up to 1015 to make the decision. its up tio the headliners.

generally we record every saturday night & broadcast it as well.

Blurr, Can you record mine? Or whomever does this regularly.

I'm still working on my next mix CD "Alliance 3" but not sure if i'll be finished with it by then. We'll see.

Looking forward to this! Mecca, get ready to bust out the beatdown dance when JOOF gets on deck. :D :D

I figured it's up to the artist. However, as a customer who attends 1015 and Ruby Skye faithfully and frequently, I'd never even know about the broadcast if it weren't for this forum. My point is simply that it's not advertised, and in the 21st century "The Digital Age," such broadcasting / recordings seem like auditory gold.

Also, the past two times I've listened to the broadcasts from 1015, there were technical problems that totally ruined it. Such as the Yahel broadcast that had a missing segment, as well as extremely poor levels-management that caused certain parts of it to be distorted. And I recall trying to listen in to a J00F performance online (since I was out of town that weekend :<) and it being cut short after 30 minutes due to a problem with the broadcaster.

I'm not trying to diss a free service, but I just really want to express my desire for these things to work. I _love_ listening to live sets, most of my music collection is based on live sets that have been released publicly, and I love to hear the beautiful sets on my headphones after hearing them live on the dance floor.

Are there archives of past broadcasts / recordings available? Are they available to the public? Can they be made available to the public?
