John's 5.5 hours set at 1015 in mid 05 the best i've ever seen him play. He started off with some really proggy stuff and slowly morphed into his familiar, more bangin Psy sound. He should be allowed to play that long every time he's up there imo.

Taj always lets him or any other headliner play as long as they want. Really up to Fleming and this morning he played til the end. Haven't enjoyed such a high BPM set in a long time. :eyespop: :eyes:

psh... raoul and dave know what's up :o
but actually i'm pretty sure it was 2004 because taj opened and john closed out.
2005 was cool too because 1015 still used kryo liberally every time he came, which made the night last longer for everyone.
i will say one of the funnest nights seeing j00f was at spundae @ circus where he double-headlined with markus, because it was just so apparent how much more raw, beat-ridden energy john's music had than markus around his peak.

That last track is Muse - Knights of Cydonia (John 00 Fleming & Wizzy Noise Remix). However, he he has stated that the track will never be released, and only available in club mixes.
Yet somehow, Taj got his hands on it... he dropped it at the opening for Infected Mushroom some months ago. *do want*

Yeah i hired a professional film guy to tape the entire spectacle at Circus that night. I think you ended up in the movie. Strangely, i think John and Markus' contrasting styles complemented each other that night.

ya buy when you go from hearing 'without you near' to 'on fire', it dawns upon you that the party has just begun ;)

If Taj opened, it wasn't the one I'm thinking of.
On Jan 1, 2005 he played a 5+ hour set though. From 12:30am till almsot 6am. I remember the last hour a bunch of us were basically dead in the booth just rockin the music. We were so tired but the music was so good.
It was that night where John wanted told Cece he wanted to play there often. After that night J00F played at 1015 a quite often for like a year, but don't think it was ever publicized as an official residency.
John's wife was also with him that night.
When John played at Ten15 in the mid-2004, though, I thought James Holden opened for him and that it was also one of Spundae's last evens at the club. I think Spundae and Ten15 parted ways after Memorial Day weekend that year and capped it off with MarcoV & DJ Rap. Remember MarcoV played past 6am that night. One of the best nights at 1015 ever for myself. 6am and the floor was still packed. Full lineup was Marco V, DJ Rap, Gianni, Taj, M3, Ellen Ferrato, Rooz, Alain Octavo, Jondi & Spesh, Alex Whalen, Jonathan Ojeda, Syd Gris, Mystre, Dyloot, Tom Slik, Enemy, St. John, Felipe Avelar, Homer Espinoza, DJ Hope, Obia
I miss parties with that type of lineup! Last time we really had one.
Here were the deets from the Day One party in 2005 where he played 5+ hours.
Event: The Day After
Venue: 1015
Dj's: John '00' Fleming, Hoj, Sneaky, Set4Life, Rafael
Music: trance, house
Cover: $20
Jan 1 Okay, sleep it off, then try to make it down to see the legendary John '00' Fleming. For twenty years he has been leading the trance music charge and in the process has become a worldwide star and sold over one million albums. Now hosting his own radio show, Progressive Trance, Fleming still gets back to his roots and still lights up dance floors. (IA)

Hmmm, is this Raul in the pic from May 28, 2005?
Maybe it was this night he was speaking of. I remember this night being nearly as brilliant as Jan 1....well, yeah I'd call it a tie. Maybe becasue it was the first time I experienced the 5+ hour set with J00F that's making it stand out a tad more.
And look, another night when CL played at Ruby lolz
Andrieux
Killer tunes all night! Love Ish's sets when he opens for John, excellent prog to open the room. Music upstairs was good too, tech house sounds good up there.
And John, holy crap :eyes: He really got into some dark, nasty bangers. Took the crowd on a relentness dark journey. ing sick.

WOW THATS ALL I CAN SAY IN WOW AMAZING MUSIC

Dave,
The first one containing the pic of John grinning is definitely Jan 1, 2005. John brought Selma out that time.
Your second post was the long set that i was talking about. Christopher was playing at Ruby and was expected to pop in on John's set. At one point, Christopher and his brother were actually dancing to John's set in the middle of the dancefloor.
We snapped this pic of our reaction when he showed up. John, CL, Me, and your head in the corner. :)
Immediately after John's set was finished, we hightailed it to Vegas where he was playing the following night for Spundae at Club Risque.

This is footage from me up in the front recording with my crappy Flip Mino. The audio isn't very good, because the camera's tiny mic just can't handle the levels. I've got to look into a better solution if I want to do more recording of this in the future.
