| I'd say Quivver's new track has that old school progressive feeling to it in some ways. Andy Gray came outta no where with a remix as well. Although Andy's remix was garbage in my opinion. Old school producers and old school vibe are all coming back. Now if progressive breaks would come back around. |

That's the because everyone is spending far too much time polishing their tunes to death to make them sound completely sanitized and squeaky clean. This often happens at the cost of decent musical ideas. |

exactly. it's all over-produced with no soul. it's a part of my love/hate relationship with the newer "progressive" stuff. I do like some of the tunes but they're not as lasting....they lack substance. there's a certain "it" factor when you hear a good song and most of today's stuff is missing it. I'm not saying that they should make more of the same but it does seem like they've run out of interesting atmospheres and melodies to accompany their technical prowess. |

My thoughts exactly. I started to think about it when "Pylon Pigs" was set for a release and as far Union Jack is mentioned, I believe that the (psy)progressive trance audience may be adequate for their music. Because of all that mainstream trance exposure, it's difficult not to think of UJ's music as an 'alternative' for it, just like psy-trance is often considered. |

I agree with this...
Imo Armin & Tiesto and co. actually have the power to change trance for the better, cos almost all of their fans
love anything and everything they play.
Lews is right...They are MUCH more important to their fans than the tracks they play.
All they gotta do is look to the crowd, point, do the Jesus-pose and the crowd would love ANYTHING, let alone something with a melody. |

| Music discussions room is looking pretty good these days, reminded me of this thread. Sasha dropping prog house/trance in his sets, people talking about pulling out their vinyl, and a few more remakes and classic style tracks being produced. I hope this pattern continues. |
