I had a great time the both times I went there...
First time was the best when the Ballroom was bumping, saw Jesse Rose and Bang Gang DJs in there... amazing vibe!
Other time was for Carl Cox, maybe it was the company, or the atmosphere, but that was a wicked time as well.
I never had the chance to hit it up on a regular club night tho... |

God i remember doing dancecave, silverdollar, wisky then fluid to finish. All at the ripe age of 17, then there was factory, madbar, and of course superstars and nightloose.
Ive always been one to beleive that you have to plan right from the start. Ive never been but it seems the place was always sending out mixed messages, now no messages at all. |

What is the right formula for that location.....they've tried appealing to the Trance/House people and that didn't work....now they are trying to appeal to the top 40 crowd and that doesn't seem to work.
There just isn't enough party people in the entertainment district for the number of clubs there are. |
consistently get big names instead of relying on the novelty of ty fad dj's to bring people in every single weekend. i liked it at first but after a while when i would make plans with people to go out and circa came up someone would ask "who is playing there this weekend" and 9/10 the answer was "nobody". theres nothing wrong with bringing in some unknowns or experimental acts but you need MORE. |

That only works if you want to get the EDM crowd....I don't know of any club that constantly brings in international Top 40/Hip Hop DJs. If they want to stay as a Top 40 club then they will need some other hook to get people in....and cool interior only works for so long. If they decide to go the EDM route then they have to compete with Guv and I honestly don't think there is enough people for two large scale clubs to compete in that market. |

SubZero was spotlight... but spotlight was better!
Newmarket used to have great clubs.
Alcatraz, Club 103, Party House, SubZero/Spotlight.
And of course Club 404 which was slightly before my time.
Not much happening in Newmarket anymore |

yeah i was talking about the edm crowd basically since the nights there was big acts at guv and circa on the same weekend they were both rammed. i think it was danny t at circa and some all access event at guv a year or so ago; thats definitely going to pull some people away from guv. i suppose the problem is that these weekends were few and far between plus the fact that circa wasnt exactly the easiest to follow promotion wise. i wasnt aware that circa had gone top40 recently, its been a while since i stepped foot there. |
