he finished with a d'n'b mix of xpander in saturday in sydney. not sure if it was deliberate, if he was taking the piss or just picked the wrong track. certainly a wtf end to what was otherwise a fantastic set.

he'd already played one 2-track encore a faire bit slower than the rest of the set so people were just kind of milling around. when they heard the melody for xpander big cheer, when the beat kicked in at a million miles an hour everyone was just confused.

I'm preeeetty tired of the white noise drenched, soulless, over-produced, big room "techno" him and Diggers love hammering these days.

Any type of change would be welcome.

Also have a huge dislike for the stadium techno/tech-house that is being pumped around over the last few years. One or two tracks like that can be ok when thrown in at the right time, but too much of it indicates a huge lack of imagination imo. Last year I went to see Digweed in Matter, London. The first 2/3 hours was absolutely amazing....excellent melodic dance music that we really setting the tone for the night....Lawrence - Along the Wire (Superpitcher Rmx) being the highlight. He then turned a little techier, so we decided to go see Tom Middleton (brilliant by the way). We returned about 2 hours later to hear Digweed playing relentless techno. We stayed for another 2/3 hours, hoping he would bring back some prog but it wasnt to be. Couldnt believe how techy he had gone.

Great to hear that Sasha is showing signs of returning to melodic based dance music. He has always played a decent amount of it in fairness and dont think he has gone down the techno route as much as Digweed has. But a return to progressive stuff would be welcomed by most Sasha fans I think.
