you could thank NEO for failing. (if you read his instructions in both of his threads)
usually, in this thread party goers post info for Tom and others to be added to his event list. what you doing is promoting.
otherwise, you simply started a thread for each of your parties.
although both of the threads started by NEO are the same, would you care to make the logic? |

He was talking about this thread if that was too hard for you to understand then sorry :(

Promotors, post your event / party information in this thread only.
Bumps or reposts of the same event will see your account suspended.
That is all. |
How is that confusing ReenTeenTeen? |

well, look at it this way then: I don't give a slightest for how this new system going to play out but I figured I'd help. In about a month or two when this thread reaches 20+ pages, such posts as these for example...

Come party with District Ignition as Above & Beyond destroys Glow!
What You Need To Do:
1. Print out the flier and bring it with you to the show (one per person).
2. Arrive EARLY and jump in the Guestlist line. This is seperate from all other guest lists and the District Ignition line is located on the RIGHT side (to the RIGHT if you're facing the club).
As ever, DI appreciates your support and patronage.

will be a waste of promotion.
Thus, unless there is a sticky thread for promoters to use & take advantage now like Tom is trying to do for himself, all the future party information posts will be ignored even more then they are being ignored now as threads.
So if you think about it and follow in the footsteps of Tom and create a preferably first post you can edit by adding promo info+flyer+link to the page it came from by different promoters posting in such thread.
Otherwise this forum will simply continue its course of dying out while other NY forums are doing a better job for their community.
Good day.
EDIT: It isn't looking like we're getting a MOD any time soon. ;) |

BINGO.
A message board like TA is supposed to be a tool and a source of information for our community, in our respective areas. By limiting us -those who want to SHARE INFORMATION with their community (yes, we are all included)-, the message board is not doing its job. I agree with the fact that there are 5 different threads for the same party, but then again, a mod could merge threads.
It's like saying that because somebody doesn't like somebody else's input, TA will get rid of the latter.
If you're not interested in a thread, don't look at it. It's worked for other boards. |

i have to agree on this, with the exception that if the party your promoting is not even close to trance.. that is iffy as the name of this site is clearly "tranceaddict". . . DEF threads for mult events need to be merged and promoters posting events should at least attempt to be part of the community also, that is big. |

The fact is that although this is called "Tranceaddict", nobody listens to JUST TRANCE anymore. Personally, I think when ppl say "I only listen to techno/trance/house", they need to open up their minds and pull their heads out of their asses. Look at TOTA: big techno heads, even though this is "tranceaddict" (to give an example).
A lot of promoters that post in NYTA, maybe not known to some, they have made a name for themselves in -not only their techno/trance/house circles- our community as a whole. Boo is a lovely lady who has done a big part in taking our (sub)culture to the masses, same goes for Taimur (BlkMarket) and others. Just because they are not known in this circle, doesn't mean they're spamming; they are using the resources given to OUR community to promote events.
I thought Rhythmism was bad, but this elitism going on on TA is ridiculous. I'd rather check out a thread for a quality party with solid talent than a million hype threads of "zOMG Tiesto in NYC!!!!111oneone". |
