Neighborhood: SoHo
150 Varick St
(between Spring St & Vandam St)
New York, NY 10013
(212) 807-7000
Time: 4am til ?
Aug. 29th/30th Sat. night/Sun. morning NYC's exclusive after hours party continues this weekend with Damien Ford and Danielle Nicole!
This SoHo club is New York's first eco-friendly nightlife destination, with a two level lounge area.
The 6,000-square-foot space has a an amazing sound system and is decorated beautifully! Eight varieties of colorful leaves cover the walls, lending a natural woodland feel to the club. There 5,000 individually hung crystals above the upstairs dance floor which is designed to emulate a rolling landscape. The downstairs lounge is very cozy and intimate. Overall it's great place to let yourself go.
The door at times can be a little selective so RSVP and arrive properly.

What a bust Ultrabar was that night. That place is the reason why I hate DC. I used to go to Panorama events all the time, and now that they don't recognise me because I haven't been there in about 3 years, they pull off the douchebag "You are nobody" attitude.
Hopefully the scene in DC improves (like it has been lately) so other promoters step up to the plate and give Panorama a run for their money. |
Hey,
Sorry you had a bad time. What guest list did you come in on? Lemme know if you want to come back, I work there on Thursdays and Fridays and I'll make sure you are better take care of. Sorry your experience sucked.
Best,

I'm sorry too. Unfortunately some of the people who work there don't know what the f*ck they are doing and piss off good people. The upside is that those people generally don't end up working there for very long. We have been with Ultrabar for about 3 years now and have become the goto guys on EDM nights.
Hit me or Christauff up on Facebook anytime you want to come out to a Panorama event and I assure you that type of nonsense will not happen again.

I appreciate you guys responded. I was on DI's list that night, which was advertised as free before 11. I get to the door @ 10:40 and the line was ridiculous (later I found out about the asshats from the Real World being there, so I understood the reason of the clusterf*ck), but managed to make it to the front of the line. I got a $5 off card (it was still 10:50) and then a promoter that I didn't recognise told me it was $30 to get in (with the card).
Another thing was that people pretend not to know you when I've been going to Glow and other Panorama parties every week for years when I lived in DC. I'm not saying by any means that I deserve preferential treatment, but at least a little courtesy was due with a "Hello" without the attitude.
I'm saying this because the experience at the door is so important for a patron, and how somebody is welcomed sets the tone for the overall experience. They might not be hired by Panorama, but the impression caused will always reflect on the hosts of the party. No harm done though, I still had fun that night, but elsewhere.
I will definitely hit one of you guys up next time I decide to come by, will prob be for Joris. Thanks! :) |

I could not agree more about the tone being set at the door. I wanted to make sure that your experience was a one-off, not the routine. If you ever need anything, or have a question about a DI event, send me an email (christauff AT-symbol districtignition.com). Your experience was not something I would write home about and I'm not proud that it happened to you. DI guys are always outside (I swear we need to get monogrammed hats) and we are there to keep situations like that from occurring. Thanks for the feedback, really appreciate it. |
