The three deck wizard and King of Clubs, Carl Cox returns to Pacha NYC on Friday, March 13th to play host to club kids and dance floor veterans alike. Cox may have sold over a quarter million mix CD’s, been the host of some of the biggest nights in dance music history, but he still knows how to keep it simple behind the decks: one, two, or three of them. On this pending tour, Cox says, “I just wanted to go back to basics. Carl Cox and Friends is all about the ‘show’ but this tour’s going to be about the music and me as an individual DJ. I still have that pioneering spirit and I want to celebrate the scene with the US’s amazing crowds.” With Pacha NYCs award winning all Dynacord sound system, it will be very easy to showcase the best tunes Carl has to offer.

Carl Cox Global, the King’s radio show, recently celebrated 6 years on air and the 300th broadcast milestone. “I’m so proud of what we’ve accomplished – 6 years of airtime at this level is phenomenal and the 300th show will be spectacular,” says Carl. The 300th show is just another huge achievement after an astonishing year. This past summer, Carl returned to Space for the seventh year in a row, with a host of iconic mates including Francois K, Laurent Garnier & Fatboy Slim taking to the decks. He toured the USA, storming the Burning Man Festival in Nevada and bringing his Carl Cox & Friends Arena to the Winter Music Conference for a 4th year running. He also dropped massive shows across South America, Europe, the Far East and Australia, played exclusive F1 parties across the world, and still had energy left to claim the SW4 crown once more at Clapham Common.

Does Martin Landsky play the sexiest techno in the business? After blow-up sets in Miami and Detroit last year coupled with a devastating afterhours performance at Rebel for Sunday School for Degenerates New York, Martin returns for a follow-up lesson in house, techno, with hints of acid. The Intim label headmaster puts together a portfolio with everything from flawless mixing to sexy vocals that shows why he is hailed as one of the top DJs in the upper class of the Techno community. No stranger to detention, Berlin transplant Konrad Black concludes his own U.S. tour, to coincide with his turn at the Watergate compilation series for the esteemed, eponymous Berlin nightclub. Join the fray early for Connie, hot off her first release on Airdrop, this techno femme can hold her own against the Berlin invasion.

Cielo is proud to announce nominations in three categories at the seventh annual Club World Awards. Having previously won the “Best Club” award three times before (in 2005, 2006 and last year), Cielo is up for the honor once more, as is Dance.Here.Now who similarly won the top prize last year in the “Best Party” category. Congrats also to Francois K nominated this year as “Best Resident” for his Deep Space night by the prestigious award show that’s generally regarded as the leader in its field. March madness continues with the upcoming Winter Music Conference and the 24th annual International Dance Music Awards being held in Miami, with Cielo nominated in the “Best US Club” category. To top off the accolades, Cielo will also be included in DJ Mag’s prestigious “Top 100 Clubs of the World” issue out later this month. Wish us luck and read on to see why we’re still on top.

Legendary disco remixer, label mogul, celebrated DJ and now Club World Award nominee for "Best Resident DJ", Francois K, kicks off a month of his seriously seductive Monday Deep Space nights on the 2nd with the dub poet Infinity. The Nyabinghi Rastafarian from Jamaica follows in the true tradition of dub poetry made popular by such artists as Mutabaruka, U-Roy and Big Youth. Just before the mayhem of the WMC, things kick off on the 23rd with Matt Edwards from Rekid and Quiet Village as our Deep Space guest. The innovative producer / remix has played a hand in hits for a plethora of artists in recent years including Benny Benassi, Kylie Minogue, Moby and Justice, while as a DJ his sets are pretty much like a box of chocolates: you never quite know what you’re gonna get!... Things round off on the 30th with guest John Daly (no not that one!) celebrating the launch of his upcoming ‘Sea & Sky’ opus on Francois’ Wave Music label. The Irish producer creates an opus that splits the difference between deep-house movers and serene electronic numbers with consummate ease.

Roots finds Louie Vega & Kevin Hedge on deck duty at their weekly Wednesday soiree, no doubt road testing some past, present and future Miami classics from the Winter Music Conference. Just back from his 2009 Asian Tour, Louie flies solo on the 4th with the duo joined on the 11th by Detroit and Chicago house legend Ron Trent. The appearance launches his ‘Dance Classics’ album with a set that will no doubt take in a selection of his own creations that have graced such pioneering labels as Peacefrog, Prescription and KMS… Next up for Roots on the 18th is vocal diva Anane and DJ Antonello Coghe joining our Master At Work for the annual Unreleased Party and launch night for Nulu Music. An abbreviation for Nothing Ultimately Leaves Us, the label’s founded on an ideology where anyone from anywhere can find, create and explore diverse musical genres… Finally Kevin Hedge welcomes Mr. V, the vocalist behind such hits as ‘Da Bump’ on Louie’s Vega Records imprint and ‘Put Your Drink Down’ on Defected, on Wednesday 25th.

He’s been in one of the most successful bands of the past 30 years, selling more than 70 million records, won countless awards and scored dozens of top 10 hits in the process. He’s Roger Taylor, drummer with Duran Duran, who with DJ partner Jake Fonique, headline "Do It In Heels" on Thursday 5th. “It was during my ‘hiatus’ from Duran Duran in the ‘90s when I started working with Jake,” recounts the dance fan that formed the electro house band Freebass at the time, and went on to release a number of techno records under the name Funkface. “We kept in touch over the years, and kind of slipped into DJing. Just having fun, mixing our own tracks with other people’s music.” After sell out dates last summer in Ibiza, the duo returns to New York to grace Cielo’s decks. Just don’t ask them to play ‘Wild Boys’!

John Dahlbäckhas been a fixture of the Swedish house scene since the age of 15. With his cousin Jesper they started the Pickadoll label and have worked with Laidback Luke, Robbie Rivera and Zoo Brazil, establishing themselves as producers to watch. John is special guest of the Made Event on Friday 6th when you’ll hear a sonic pastiche of lite techno, burbling electro and dream inducing house. As an artist, as well as DJ, he’s known for creating a slick and highly listenable oeuvre of rich textures, warm chords and electronic melodies that gel well, gliding freely without ever dipping in quality.

Australia’s Dirty South (aka Dragan Roganovic) caught the technically transmitted disease of DJing long before he even owned a set of turntables. Catching DJ sets by Erick Morillo and Felix Da Housecat when they came to his hometown of Melbourne reaping the rewards of international stardom. Fast-forward a handful of years and it’s now Dirty South’s turn to enjoy the limelight. Dance.Here.Now on Thursday 12th presents the Grammy nominated producer who’s worked with an equally varied array of artists including Axwell, Mark Ronson, Snoop Dogg, Tiesto and even the Doors.

Friday 13th is Turntables On The Hudson with Mariano, Nickodemus, and Sabo taking care of business. Now into their eleventh year of throwing parties the guys return for their monthly residency of sultry jazz rhythms, Eastern melodies and Afrocentric grooves. The resident trio playing their adventurous musical mix built on a policy of maximum funk and absolute fun.

Almost a year since its inception, Dubfire and his burgeoning Sci+Tec label, are our special guests on Thursday 19th. The Deep Dish man and Grammy Award winner has always been at the cutting edge of dance, while as a DJ he’s known for creating an inspired and effervescent set, that builds on existing gargantuan grooves by adding a head swimmingly elaborate sound collages of crystalline electronica that really has to be heard on a large system to truly appreciate just how good it is.

Multitalented Tobi Neumann hails from Germany and caught electronica bug at the ‘95 Berlin Love Parade. Now an established trendsetter in his own right thanks to his refreshing cross-pollination of electro, techno and house, Tobi’s productions have graced such cutting edge labels as Get Physical and Playhouse and has worked with artists of the caliber of Chicks On Speed and Miss Kittin. Now signed to Sven Väth’s Cocoon agency, Cielo’s welcomes him on Friday 20th.

Ben Watt’s mixing is uncomplicated yet still slick, allowing the music to speak greater volumes than the DJ’s skills. A true quicksilver talent he creates a mixture of pizzazz and pathos that swings to a soulfully sophisticated pendulum. The man behind the revolutionary Buzzin’ Fly label, and the ‘90s the million selling Everything But The Girl, is special guest of Giantstep on Friday 27th. Edgy deep house grooves with the odd hint afro-beat, oozing elegance and panache is promised!

March may still be cold in New York, but the dance floor at Rebel is piping hot with the freshest underground techno the world has to offer. Made Event brings you another four weeks with some of the most respected names in the genre, all powered by the newly installed and engineered Integral Sound system. We swear it’s sounding better by the week! With a first time New York appearance from Mathias Kaden and Balance release party with Joris Voorn, clubbers will not have to go far to Save the Cannibals…

March 2009
March 7 Objektivity Night: Dennis Ferrer & Sebo K with Anthony Parasole
March 14 Guido Schneider & Damian Schwartz with Plexus
March 21 Seth Troxler & Mathias Kaden
March 28 Joris Voorn Balance 014 CD Release Party with illich Mujica

MARCH 7 – DENNIS FERRER & SEBO K with ANTHONY PARASOLE
Right place, right time may be the best way to sum up Dennis Ferrer in so many words. Always seeming to be on the forefront of current musical trends, Dennis is no stranger to crafting his sound to continually be regarded as one of the top producers in the industry. Dennis’ new imprint, Objektivity, has seen great success from some unlikely places and some from right around the block, giving an American take on the deep house revival sweeping Europe at the moment. The latest release teams up Ferrer’s protégés, The Martinez Brothers with Berlin’s Argy on “Debbie Downer” for a cross-continental dancefloor deep-tech vibe. No stranger to that revival is Sebo K, a long time key figure in Berlin’s electronic dance music community. With current deep house anthem “Diva”, Sebo’s music can be heard in many different DJ’s sets all over the globe. The American and German sound come together to create a special Objektivity night on New York’s hottest new sound system. After a solid opening set for Cassy, New York’s own son Anthony Parasole will be back once again to set the night off just right.

MARCH 14 - GUIDO SCHNEIDER & DAMIAN SCHWARTZ with PLEXUS
Madrid based DJ and producer, Damian Schwartz comes to New York packed with an arsenal of his own personal feelings and concepts in modern electronic music, described as raw sequences, daily samples, strong patters, frantic rhythms and some innovation born in the streets of Spain. His own output can be heard on his own Mupa label and as a CMYK recording artist. Also no stranger to being locked in the studio, Guido Schneider from Poker Flat recordings fame has seen huge success with a string of massive releases and some choice remixes on Taksi and Minus. Joining the crew will be other Minus cohort Plexus, a local favorite around the New York minimal scene

www.myspace.com/damianschwartz
www.myspace.com/guidoschneider

MARCH 21 – SETH TROXLER & MATHIAS KADEN
Everyone’s favorite Berlin/Detroit transplant Seth Troxler will be making his Cannibals residency debut undoubtedly proving why Resident Advisor had chosen him as an artist to watch in 2009. Having smash hits on leading labels like Wagon Repair and Crosstown Rebels, this rising techno star is definitely drawing international attention and recognition. Germany’s Mathias Kaden has also been raising eyebrows over here in the U.S. after a rousing performance at DEMF. This Freude Am Tanzen & Vakant label mainstay’s unique repertoire includes funky and freaky rhythms enriched by African and South American percussions. This will be his exciting NYC debut! No need for an opener on this night, just the dynamic duo - Seth and Mathias. So come early and stay late until the lights come on.

MARCH 28 – JORIS VOORN BALANCE 014 CD RELEASE PARTY with illich Mujica
Dutch DJ/Producer Joris Voorn is hotly tipped as the next big thing, on the eve of the release of his magnificent Balance 014 compilation. Across two discs and using – remarkably – over 100 tracks, Joris constructs a complex, layered and seamless mix of some of the best tech house, minimal and electronic dance music. An epic mix in the very best sense of the word, Joris achieves the rare feat of combining variety and consistency, both on the album and on dancefloors alike. Joris will only be appearing on this U.S. tour at Save the Cannibals and the infamous Sunday School for Degenerates in Miami the following day, so get a spot front row on the dancefloor with Made Event. Illich Mujica will be starting things off with his own unique blend of eclectic and dynamic dance floor material.

Joris Voorn Balance 014 is out April 7th on EQ Recordings.
“Essentially following the Richie Hawtin blueprint of mixing many tracks at once into entirely new morasses of beautiful noise, over the course of two CDs, Voorn melts lush tech-house, minimal techno, deep electronica, folk and much more into a perfectly judged voyage across widescreen vistas, quite stunning in their escape. This is truly DJing 2.0 - Joris Voorn belongs in the pantheon of dancefloor titans for this instant classic." - DJ MAG (5/5)
