| Cool! Between this and djmag, I now know which djs to worship in 2010! |

Apart from some exceptions that list is almost as silly as DJ Mag's. |
Why is that? |

| LOL at all the serious ubercool lack of smiling and hipster hair in 98 of the 100 press shots. really blatantly shows the target niche demographic of RA. |

You say it like it's a secret or something. |

oh those ing hipsters!

but what's exactly the problem with a target niche, by the way? last time I checked, that's how business is run. It's not like RA is a department of government...
and really big of you to criticize people for what they are wearing. really professional. |

iirc, you were questioning his abilities a few months back... ?
i've see him play, i agree he's great, i just didn't realize he was this popular. |
well i didnt get the hype, then i saw him play all night.

people on RA have pretty specific tastes, the music tends to be more underground and certainly leaning towards prog and techno. they'd never vote for tiesto or armin. trance is a dirty word to most of them.
it's a credible list of djs, but there's quite a few djs on there I've never even heard of. it certainly doesn't reflect popularity levels. |

lol
re: the "popularity" comment...that's exactly the point of this poll. It's not published in magazines world wide, it's the equivalent of TA's DJ poll...voted on by the users. |

Yeah I'm sure if we grabbed press shots from the DJ mag results it would be so much different. :stongue: :stongue: |

Bunch of non DJs on there, Marco Carola has been dog every time I've seen him, Luciano shouldn't be near the top 10 anymore, and pretty much all of the best DJs I have seen this year are no where to be found. Thats all imo of course. |

Okay, fair enough. I didn't realise there were non-DJs in there. I'm only a casual techno follower and I know Hawtin is a stupid choice for number one, though I thought the rest of the list looked okay. As someone on discogs put so succinctly:
| quote: | | I'm not at all surprised with the Top 3. For anyone who reads RA & has only a passing interest in the DJ's, then these would be the ones to garner the highest pseudo-interest. Hawtin is a boring DJ these days. I've not heard a mix from him in years i've actually liked |
