ing Hipsters.

hehe. Shhh. You are going to piss them off. The is a very loud and vocal minority following the fad.

Regardless, its a much more realistic list than DJ Mag's. Good to see some actual talent on there.

Dj polls are ing stupid. Period.

can't be #1 if you don't have a clothing line, imo.

This scene is all about fashion. It's fashion before function here.

True.

Bunch of non DJs on there, Marco Carola has been dog every time I've seen him, Luciano shouldn't be near the top 10 anymore, and pretty much all of the best DJs I have seen this year are no where to be found. Thats all imo of course.

Some minimalists want you to know they don't listen to the new fake popular minimal instead they listen to the “good” stuff which is by producers who you have never heard of but are quite good nonetheless, according to them. They are firm so they don't drift far from their ty little nitche of minimal. And they all like Richie Hawtin. Unless of course you accuse them of liking Richie Hawtin in witch case they start telling you about how big of a poser Richie Hawtin is and how he has changed since he moved to Germany. As a side-note they were listening to alice deejay/ian van dahl pop trance when Hawtin was still here doing his thing. They don't know we know about this.

nefardec, you realise you're coming off as a complete arse here?

His initial comment wasn't particularly derogatory or inflammatory and you took it to heart. As for the "unprofessional" comment, what does Blake Jarrell commenting on another DJ's clothing have to do with his own career? You sometimes DJ and I've seen you make far worse comments about trance DJs. How unprofessional of you!

Besides, he never mentioned anything about what anyone was wearing. You clearly want to attack Blake for some reason or another and this was a convenient excuse.

yep, i just felt like being a dick last night.

but, his initial comment was pretty asinine and sounded a lot like sour grapes IMO

and hating on 'hipsters' is more tired than the 'hipsters' themselves at this point.

I see that they also have a Top live performer list, this is strange.

By "live performer" they don't mean "best live DJ", they mean acts that perform their music live, such as Kenneth James Gibson, Guillaume & The Coutu Dumonts, Audion, etc.

Okay, fair enough. I didn't realise there were non-DJs in there. I'm only a casual techno follower and I know Hawtin is a stupid choice for number one, though I thought the rest of the list looked okay. As someone on discogs put so succinctly:

I like this Discogs quote better!

Even though the experts may disagree, it's awesome to see a Canuck atop this wonky list. Love it!

Ha! That is hilarious. Say what you want about your Detroit DJs or Berlin DJs or Chilean-transplant DJs, but it's the CANADIANS that rule the trendiest poll in all the land!

Sounds like the sort of stuff he would play, a bit slower than his usual sets but still quality.

Thanks for the sets guys. :)
