| Haven't had the chance to watch any live performer in person, but from the recorded sets I've heard Kenneth James Gibson's set at the Standard was amazing. |

another one i've seen live is damian lazarus , his djing is beyond limits but i wasn't impressed much by his "live" performance earlier on this year @ Avalon . |

Funny observation #3:
The RA poll has generated more discussion here than TA's own poll.
Actually, this probably isn't all that surprising after all. Everyone here's tired of talking about Tiestin van Schulzenyond. At least with the RA poll, there's a bit of fresh discussion regarding Luciardo Villalawtin. |

From this live top 10 I've seen Joris Voorn, Laurent Garnier (with band that is), Mathew Jonson, Henrik Schwarz and Booka Shade. Joris Voorn is an awesome producer and is really solid on the technical part as well. Laurent Garnier with band was a really neat experience with the saxophonist, trumpeter, etc. Henrik Schwarz went live with Bugge Wesseltoft. Really subtle, loved it very much. Booka Shade was 3 years ago I think at a large festival, but they were very good too. Mathew Jonson I didn't appreciate much at the time, but the setting wasn't really good and I wasn't into his sound as much as I am now. I had to miss him 2 weeks ago (damn!) with Modern Deep Left Quartet, but from what I've heard about it, it was the best set a lot of people had heard this year.
In the coming months I'm going to see Jonson live again, as well as Reboot and Modeselektor for the first time.. I want to see them even more now that I've seen this RA top 10.
Seen Guy Gerber last month as well, he played for 1,5 hours and he was absolutely destroying the place. If anyone can ID this crappy vid I took with my phone, that would be much appreciated. |
