Nice, looks like I have some Asian movie watching to do :)
I'll add my own strange mix of Japanese recommendations:
Battles Without Honor and Humanity [1973] - Part of a 5+ part series known as The Yakuza Papers. Basically the Japanese Godfather in terms of theme, popularity and acclaim.
Seppuku (Hara Kiri) [1962]- When it comes to the classic samurai genre, I'll take this over even any of the Kurosawa films.
Densha Otoko (Train Man) [2005] - Hilarious geeky-romantic-comedy
Dare mo shiranai (Nobody Knows) [2004] - horribly depressing |

| "Spirited Away" (Sen to Chihiro no kamikakushi) has received a lot praises with due Reason. Yes its an anime with a cute little story, but it was honestly really good, really worth the watch. Not a big Akira fan. |

damn I was gonna say Akira! It's one of the first movies that got me into cyberpunk. For those who enjoy the genre, look into Akira, Ghost in the Shell, Johnny Mnemonic, BLADE RUNNER (my fav movie of all time) umm that's about it. I never got into those animes that depress you and all. I saw Spirited Away and I was impressed. I didn't like it but I was thoroughly impressed. and umm...yeah other than those Trigun and Cowboy Bebop are good animes...goin back to HK movies real quick, Chow Yun Fat fans should look into the God of Gamblers series if you haven't looked into it yet. S'about it. I'll keep it coming as time progresses :tongue3 :tongue3   :toothless |

Finished watching redcliff 1 two days, im hyper for the 2nd one, John Woo did a real good job with this one along with the casting, some fine asian ladies in there, besides the ladies, really good actors. Anime, you cant go wrong with Cowboy Bebop, and the other serie the same guys made in 2004, Samuraï Champloo, sickest anime ever made.As for anime movies,Princess Mononoke and Ninja Scroll have to be on top of my list.
Another HK movie suggestion: "Running out of time" with the guy from Black Mask 1,not jet li, detective, forgot his name. |

The best anime of all time has to be Berserk for me. It is the most dark and twisted anime ive ever seen. If you like ninja scrolls check out berserk.

Read a few Berserk, not bad at all. Seems the serie is suspended though
Another twisted movie (as i recalled,it was actually based on a true story) is the japanese movie "The Innocent Seven" (2005) |

| Just a little switch up from Asian movies. Last night I watched Straw Dogs. Think Clockwork Orange with a dash of The Warriors. I love how the tension is on the rise from the very beginning. Two thumbs up. |

Glad you think so :)
Had you watched it before?
If anyone is in the mood for a different kind of Christmas movie:
Joyeux Noël [2005] - Based on the idea of Christmas truce during world war 1. |
