I have admit, three kings was good. Am i the only one who thinks George Clooney is overrated? Except maybe for Syriana

eye candy for the female dollars.

he was good in staring at goats though. Could not act his way out of a paper bag though.:p

hollywood is not about good acting, it is about putting people in tabloids into movies for the money.

Did not see "staring at goats". will do. Matt Damon over Clooney over Wahlberg. Good upcoming actors are pretty rare too,im sticking with the old ones. Ill hand it to Pitt, he's good. Damon, Denzel for sure, nobody can touch Pacino, freaking amazing, Butler as some potential (bit late at 40 though) nicely done in 300. So-so with Del Toro although i like most of his movies (not so the one with Silverstone). Cant forget Deniro, Pesci is the ultimate mafia movie guy. Mel Gibson if he can drop the booze is a friggin good actor for specific roles, dont know how he'd put up as a bad guy, real life indicates he wouldnt be too bad.

how you look > how you act.

welcome to hollywood, it is why maybe 5 or 6 good movies come out from it a year, and the rest of the good stuff is independent/international.

Of course, names and looks brings the big bucks, and if i were a production company CEO or pres., i'd probably have no problem living with a few crappy movies under my belt for the cause of making some cash. The key word is "few". Doesnt change the fact that quality is too often sacrificed in that purpose. Audience is giving them right to act this way because that industry is forever successful even if its 90% crap coming out every year, just by ratio income/cost. I suggest that quality remains quality as it will bring people to the theater too. Gladiator was a really good movie, simple but good plot, made the bucks, got the awards. Yeah,it took some work, some money, time, thats called "investment". Somewhere somehow you have to take a risk and back it up. Philanthropic arguments will not cut it i know, profits will. Quality can cash in profits, and big time. Not necessarily talking about movies going into specific topics or deeper subjects that requires emotional involvement or overall understanding of the situation thats featured, but just something at the very least "innovative" in the way its presented or the story, just to show a bit of respect to the people not just "we are aware you'll spend your dough on this anyway, so we'll just make sure the actors speak english and looks good"

Pretty much the same argument can be applied to music. The sad thing is that those industries became what they are on quality and hardwork. 70's gave place to creation all around even with the unstable social environment. Now i feel we're "stalling"

i have a garage and want to get my rave on, but there is nothing worth the money tonight so i am going to sit at home and masturbate to reruns of Good Times.

I like George Clooney. I think he does a good job. I haven't seen him have to try all that hard with any roles, but I think he comes across well in the movies I've caught him in. Up in the Air is one of my fav's of '09.

I think I'm one of the only people that didn't like The Departed.

Don't wash your car when it's below freezing.

Unless you have a garage.

I hate the vampire movement. I applaud the guy though who made it romantic to get bitten by vampires, as technically im still trying to figure out how they could have boners if their hearts stopped (i presume their heart stopped, if it doesnt, issue solved)
Johnny Jon
dilated arteries by hormones could be a plausible solution. That reminds me of "mallrats" with the whole superman debate. Movie really worth checking out.
