Too true.

I saw this yesterday in 3D and was amazed....

Yes it was predictable...

Yes there wasn't too much character development...

But I thought the story truly showed the that has happened here for a long time and made me sad for our own history...

The graphics were out of this damn world and the design of Pandora was incredible...

I will DEFINITELY see it again...

That's what I like to hear!

Saw it again, this time I sat in the middle, so I'd get closer to the action on screen. Still left me in awe the second time around.
High on PSI
Saw it yesterday and thought that it was very well done. Story line seemed to be similar to a few movies blended together, but a nice concept still. A very good escape from reality, which is what a movie is supposed to be.

overall 9/10.

story wise avatar was dances with wolves in 3D

visually = the next generation of eye candy a la star wars, or jurassic park.

One thing I don't like about 3d though, is the fact that after being spoiled with digital cameras, it seems like a step back to be forced to focus on a single object in the film at any given time.

Still, highly recommended, and something everyone has to get out to the theatre to see.

I'm not sure what the big deal is over it copying Pocahontas' story.

There are thousands of copy cat movies out there.
The difference between the good and the bad ones is that the good movies have a fresh and exciting take on the idea.

Avatar is about as fresh and entertaining as it gets in that department.

I'm with ya. Agree. Loved the tale of the Na'vi and Pandora the way I never did the story of the indians and their land/earth. ;)

Avatar voted best drama? You're ing joking right?

Only drama I saw in the film was getting tickets, first time booking tickets online 3 days before the show.

Visual = 8/10
Storyline = 6/10

EDIT "Appearntly Cameron wrote the storyline 15yrs ago and didn't adjust it to present time"

Cameron, get with the times dude ... No wonder your storyline sunk like the Titanic.
