Reasonable Search & Seizure is a beautiful thing.

If you're completely off your in a sketchy TO afterhours, expect this.

What if you're not off your ...

What if you're sitting there having a non-alcoholic drink(no liquor license at Film) and talking about your day with a buddy and listening to some good tunes...

It's a well known fact that the cops totally abuse their powers and bully people every day...

I really enjoy hearing your viewpoints, as I'm glad there are people still holding the state accountable - But if you're ed off your gourd in the wee hours of the morning in a venue known to engage in these illegal activities, well.. Looks like a duck etc etc.

If for some reason, that someone was "just there for the excellent musical repertoire" or "fabulous social scene" then no harm, no foul. That argument goes right out the window when they search you (with FAR beyond what any JP would feel constitutes reasonable grounds for S&S) and find half a key or whatever.

I'm not saying that the State should have the unfettered right to S&S, but within reasonable grounds? Absolutely. I welcome any 5-0 / border guard / rent-a-cop to search my , because they'll find a debit card and a pack of Captain Blacks. Not a metric tonne of banned substances.

How is Film a public place? It's a privately owned establishment, and if their was probable cause for a search warrant to be authorized and issued, I would assume that all its patrons are subject to search via reasonable grounds....

I'm not 100% sure that's entirely correct, but I could be wrong. It does make sense though.
