Toronto Police have arrested 15 people in a drug raid at a night club in Chinatown.
The drug squad searched the Film Lounge at 393 Dundas Street West, near Spadina Avenue early Sunday morning.
Police found an unspecified amount of cocaine, ketamine, and GHB, also known as the date rape drug.
Fifteen people were arrested and are facing a string of drug trafficking and possession charges.
Six suspects are being held in custody pending a bail hearing. Nine others were charged and released.
Police did not name the suspects and say the investigation is continuing.

| this pisses me off.. Do cops even have the right to search you just for being in a public place? I would seriously hope not. |

| I've been told they can't search you without consent, and most people don't resist or know their rights. I always thought, maybe its bc I'm American, that you needed a warrant to search someone. Or proof of some sort. |

im pretty sure when the police have a warrant to search a premises, everyone inside falls under the reasonable doubt category.
if you look at stash houses that get raided, everyone inside gets searched._doesnt matter who the person is. |

but a house vs a public place should make a big difference. I have the right to be in public without worrying that the state will shake me down without cause at any moment. Or at least i should have that right if we really do live in a free country. |

| Well .. I guess going someplace where you know you or others are doing a ton of illegal things that your rights are going to be revoked as soon as you walk through that door. |

we all know that the laws written for law enforcers were written in a way that they can be manipulated for their advantage. |

thats a dangerous statement.
a) how do you know people are doing illegal things? and how do they know you know? So does that mean i can get taken down if i walk down an ally? or into a cafe full of hookers?
b) if im not doing anything wrong and no one has seen me doing anything wrong then what business does the state have in accusing me and invading my privacy?
Club raids are so wrong on so many levels. I mean if u are going to have narcs and make arrests then go right ahead. But raids are obnoxious at best and borderline totalitarian at worst.
I fear for my country. I really do |
