There's a common thread between trance and the sorts of music I listen to today, such that I think trance was really just a subset of my lifelong taste for hypnotic, progressive music, often with emotional tendencies. As a kid, I liked jazz and baroque fugues before moving into electronic dance music.

These days I still keep a foot in dance music, much of it derived or inspired by trance/techno. The Knife and Karin Andersson are recent favorites. But I spend more time with minimalism, ambient, and Indian classical.

It's possible that the next major dance music movement could bring me back to that culture again, but it would have to touch me in the same way that late 90s trance and progressive did, looking toward techno. A new Underworld, please?

I have abandoned music, personally.

When I joined TA I was still mostly concerned with epic trance and hard trance, although I was beginning to explore electronic music from the early 90s.

Six and a half years on I've steadily grown out of the melodic trance and developed the love of the 90s electronic. I think the progressive I get the biggest kick out of is very much the middle ground between those early loves. Of course I listen to from all over the spectrum (including plenty of dubstep) but progressive and classic 90s electronic are definitely the closest to "addictions".

No, I still visit TA once or twice a week.

Pretty much. At any rate, I have found myself listening to it less and less lately, and cannot remember what the last song was that I heard, or when I listened to it.
