anyone know if the iPad has a vibrate function?

Instead of selling it in increments of gigs of storage, they're going with light, medium, and heavy flow days.

On another name stupidity line they should show what appears to be bust chicks holding them saying "iPad"

Laptops can not match iPad in terms of comfortability. The typical netbook weights 2.5 to 3 lbs. It's not as easy to type on laptops. It also does 10 hours of battery life.

Of course, this battery life and ease of use comes at the price of crucial functionality, such as running multiple apps, any of the reasons griped at in this thread, and expensive battery replacement.

Laptops may have more functionality, but the iPad is not filling their space. Apple is trying to fit the space between mobile phone and laptop. I congratulate Apple on building products that fill underdeveloped markets. Their products create a lot of third party businesses, and promote competition. How soon until we see a DJ app on this thing? Hopefully it will promote innovation in multi-touch technology.

I'm not going to get one though.

maybe a year from now they'll put a camera in it and hold another press conference

Looks nice but it's worthless. No multitasking, no flash support, I simply couldn't think of anything I could do with it. It's just an expensive toy.

it's so annoying how apple always go this... i swear they intentionally make the first versions REALLLLLY basic, so they can re-release a slightly better version every 6 months until in the 10th version it's actually good, and they've made millinos

well this is basic industrial design/product management/game theory, so i'm quite sure it's intentional...

just like how i hate apple not making their batteries in their iPod and iPhone easily replaceable. it's by design to get you to pay for a new device every 2 years.

Moral Hazard
I really don't understand why I would buy this over a laptop at the same price point that does so much more... honestly, how much are people willing to give up for a slick interface and a pretty design?

I guess we have to wait until next year for apple to improve on this idea
