Does anyone else agree...

...that maybe we can start loosening up in terms of what gets posted in here?

Z did a hell of a job cleaning it all up...things were out of control a few months ago. Seriously, great job. :)

Idk, personally I'd like to see certain things allowed to stay in here that really are relevant to the NYC dance scene...

for example...

NYTA djs who want to post mixes
-moving them all to the DJ Promotion forum just guarantees that nobody will get a chance to hear the mix.

Music/DJ articles relevant to NYTA
- For example...the Brad Miller interview that was posted yesterday. It was moved to the music discussion forum where no one seemed to care about it.

Certain party announcements
-There is a big difference between people who have been posting on TA for years making a thread about a great NYC trance party, and someone who registers a name simply to spam their party that no one here cares about. A lot of great and relevant parties are going on, and they just get no attention in the events section.

Anyone else?

Again, not to knock the forum...its been cleaned up in a big way. There just seems to be way less traffic/posting lately.

i support your war of terror, zack.

According to Euphoria, the reason why swamper moves the stuff around is he wants people to explore different parts of the site. So for example, my interview was moved into the music discussion forum, where others could see it.

But IMO, isn't it the other way around? Most of us come here from searching "trance forum" on the internet and go to the music discussion forum first. Then we branch out into other areas.

That being said though, I don't want annoy Euphoria. This forum (especially this NYC board) has the least flaming/bitching of any forum I've ever seen on the internet, and I'm a bona-fide forum whore.

There was an interview post about me yesterday?? Daaaamn Z's good lol She got to it before I even saw it and I live here :P

I agree though I would like to see these make a comeback -

Local mixes I really miss, along with local articles etc...

I also kinda miss events too to be honest. I do love having them all in one spot to check up on them easily - but it feels like there's just not as much discussion when they're in the events section. Plus with roll calls and the paid events on top it seems like events make their way to this page eventually (which I like since I like to read the discussion on them). Pros and cons though - I guess there really is no way to win there..

That said I love you Z and you are the best mod on the planet :D Maybe too good lol!

I've never come to this forum and thought it needed to be cleaned up in anyway. I always thought that NYTA did a great job in self regulating. To be honest, for as long as I've been posting here, I didn't realize that there ever was an active moderator in this section of the forum. :)

i certainly am down to be a soldier in the zack roth 'bring back certain things that should be allowed to stay on the forum because they are relevant to NYC' army

HOLY !!! I just noticed my signature was edited cause it was too huge.

fine it can be small, a big sig is obnoxious, fine. but the syracuse basketball is getting changed back to being LARGE and in charge

+1 on the posting local mixes. Mine was moved instantly :(

For party announcements maybe we could do something where you have to "earn your stripes" to post an event in the main area? A certain number of posts or overall involvement? We could def still keep the event section so there's somewhere to post for everyone - plus this way it might encourage promoters to become more actively involved with things like reviews etc..

If we do decide to let events back in, I'd really like to see good local parties like Electronic Evolution get a spot on the main forum alongside the big stuff like ASOT.

+1 on the mixes, interviews, and anything relevant to NYC/DC scene...

BUT, I dont mind the events thread at ALL because it condenses all the millions of club posters/promoters/ticket sellers/event info/flyers into one thread.

I totally appreciate this, because I can get all my info in one section with out sorting through a million pages of roll call posts, random conversation, and often, multiple threads on one event :whip: It was such a mess on this board before that section, I HOPE it doesnt go :(

Edit: just because people dont post, doesnt mean they wont LOOK, which is kind of the point of the events section: to get the relevant details. For example, the Andy Moor party has almost 2000 reads.
