i think if you attacked right before his expo went up you would have won right then. all he had was 1 tank with a small bioball and you had an observer to spot the high ground (although there was no wall off to stop you form just waltzing up to his main anyway). or to play it safe you could have just blocked the bottom of his ramp with a force field, killed the expo and backed off and ended up way ahead in economy. since he had a starport i would have just went for a couple immortals from your robo instead of colossus, just too easy for a terran to switch to vikings once he sees them. with the money you save from not going colossus you could get 5 gateways a bit more quickly and got charge, something i always try to to vs T as soon as my first expo gets going. a bunch of chargelots would beat the out of his army at the end of the game, and made his siege tanks work against him. also try to get 30 probes on each base ASAP (i struggle with this too)

a little warp prism harassment when he's out of his base is always good too. especially when you have colossus at home defending your choke point.

Finally! This is very good advice. Why 30 probes per base? I always wondered what the right amount is..

to get the most out of each base, you need 3 on both assimilators, 3 on all 8 mineral patches. you can get away with ~25 total per base but if you watch pro games they never slack on worker production, and as a result have huge armies by the middle of the game.

was watching a day9 webcast and he made a point that stuff like build order, unit composition and micro are pointless if you don't follow 2 rules of thumb - 1) never get supply blocked and 2) never pause probe production, ever. apparently if you do these 2 things everything else tends to fall into place, and there's no way you can get outmuscled with all other things equal (not that the game is really even balanced yet :P)

tried to consciously drive this in to my play in a game last night.. had an epic 30 min game vs a diamond zerg on metalopolis - don't think i ever witnessed how much you can do when you have 2+ expos, all brimming with probes. had 7 gateways pumping units at the end with 2k extra minerals, didn't even have to micro, had enough altogether that i could just keep sending groups of zealots/stalkers in every direction of the map and made sure he couldnt expo anymore.

That is definitely not true.

Oh btw, SEA (inc Australian) people can play on NA server now.

Who wants to play?
