quitting because you have to listen to your boss and do what he says is very logical, and not reacting like an emotional retard at all. |

Uh. I support myself. Idiot. I haven't taken a non-gifted (like birthdays or christmas) penny in almost 4 years. I worked my ass off for three, and I have been on unemployment insurance for the last 9 months, which I paid into the whole time I was working. |

Actually I never been able to do that, even when I was a skinny little kid. :(
I can put my legs behind my head still (though it hurts a bit more now)! :D |

Laws must be lax in your state, from the sound of it your employer fired you for just cause and you should have never received a dime. They probably rolled over to expedite your departure or felt bad for you.
Unemployment insurance is for people who get laid off due to no fault of their own. So now that you leeched off the tax payer for 9 months and your unemployment has run out as well as your welcome in your area, you've courageously decided to move to Seattle and leech off your Aunt. Congrats! |

Well yeah, anyone would be able to after years of trying to suck their own dick. |

I guess it doesn't matter cause I already made the commitment, and would be rude to back out now, and also stupid...
Anyway, I finalized all my stuff to move to Seattle at the start of next month to do some classes. Going to be living with my aunt and uncle, they have a big basement room that they have turned into a bed room. A bunch of my other cousins have stayed there while they did school or started work, or stuff like that.
Rent is probably free (or very close to free), its in an incredibly nice neighborhood and close to the down town area (I could walk to the down town area pretty easily, like a half mile to a mile at most, though up and down some big hills).
Only thing is it doesn't have its own kitchen or bathroom. :( For some reason that is sorta making me feel put off, but oh well...
Good deal or am I just looking for excuses to not do . :tongue3 |
No, you're right. You should cancel these classes and stay in Hicksville because a rent-free room doesn't have its own kitchen.
This thread went off-topic because your question is absolutely ing pointless. |

Actually IGK in my state that is NOT the case. They fired me for "poor performance" according the decision made by the unemployment insurance board who decides if you can receive insurance. According to the criteria, that is not considered a reason one can be denied unemployment insurance. Also they had to repeatedly try and get contact with my former employer and they were not cooperative when they did get in contact.
Poor performance is BS, I was the only one to get a project out in the first quarter of 2009, and my side of the work came in under budget and on time. The company was bleeding cash, and I didn't just nod my head and told them was ed, as did lots of other people there, but they didn't listen.
Also, the idiots never payed their unemployment insurance fees. The tax payer has not paid a cent to me, my former employer has picked up the whole entire cost the last 9 months. :) Kinda funny when employees are required to pay into the fund, but business don't have to. At least they got ed on that one. They had the audacity to try and offer me a "creative differences" reference when they let me go if I said I would quit. I told them to off on that. They wont say about me anyways. I never had a performance review that was documented, I never signed anything, and the performance reviews I did have were all positive verbal comments and I received a raise at each one.
So IGK you can right off because you don't know . |

This is an interesting reply. I won't pretend to know your situation with your former company, but as an employer myself, I'll just say there are 2 sides to every story and this explanation looks a whole lot like the typical "I didn't do anything wrong and for some crazy reason, the man stuck it to me" excuse. Your case may really be an exception of course.... I'm just saying.
One thing though, and I'm sure I don't have to tell you this... but even if you WERE correct in your reasoning to stand up to the boss, you can't do that . Even the most productive workers who go off the reservation like that get fired. And deservedly so; the workplace isn't a democracy. I mean, props for standing up for yourself and all... but you gotta think big picture and not burn any bridges in case you need references from those former employers on your next job. |
