Tacoma sucks ass. |
Not all of it. The North End is a really nice neighborhood, and so is Old Town, and most of the Stadium District. |

What chip is that? :conf: I am not trying to say I don't have my own issues, but chip on my shoulder seems an odd way to describe it. Makes me sound like I am angry or something, which I am not particularly. :tongue2 |
Nono, I didn't mean you have anger issues at all. You are obviously a very intelligent guy with a very masculine interest in the spheres of your life, i.e. - military, coding, games, etc. I don't mean to Slychoanalyze either, since I only know of you through a piddly internet forum, but I think you have some slight superiority issues you are going to need to get over if you were to actually try and make it in our corporate-vested world. We all do though! I am not trying to judge per se, but by the way you talk about your previous employers and how that went, don't you think you could have handled that better? Pretend for a moment you did not have the security net of your parents to fall back on, that you were entirely on your own in the world and you cannot just walk away from a job because something distasteful happens, would you have handled that experience far differently, fearing for the unemployment line? You'd be a moron to have not, and I know you aren't a moron. |

| Nou is doomed to repeat his past. When faced with adversity he quits. He dropped out of high school just like he left his job just like he's running off to Seattle. Run, run, away... rinse and repeat. If it wasn't so sad it be funny. |

Nobody is doomed; everyone can change. But they have to have a reason to. If you think you can lead a fulfilling life sort of floating around, doing whatever you like on dad's dime, I think you're dead wrong because you are going to reach a day when your body begins to tell your mind that something is completely wrong by way of failed ambition and axed self-efficacy.
I feel like such a ing hypocrite asking questions that I, myself, have not resolved, but is who you are right now what you envisioned yourself as when you were younger? I don't mean to light any fires because this has nothing to do with me, but I am reaching a point in my personal life where it's becoming imminent that I am going to have to bring about big changes, myself - the whole waiting around, passing on fantastic opportunities thing, just waiting for that perfect thing to fall into your lap is the exact opposite of progress and healthy change. And I don't mean to condescend at all, but trust me when I say that your life will catch up to you, and if you are not ready, you're going to take a one-way trip to depression-ville, no matter how many safety nets exist in your life, they will dissolve before the stark reality that you've wasted your most potent years chasing realities that will never exist.
*takes a deep breath* |
