Your case may really be an exception of course.... I'm just saying.

One thing though, and I'm sure I don't have to tell you this... but even if you WERE correct in your reasoning to stand up to the boss, you can't do that . Even the most productive workers who go off the reservation like that get fired. And deservedly so; the workplace isn't a democracy. I mean, props for standing up for yourself and all... but you gotta think big picture and not burn any bridges in case you need references from those former employers on your next job.

You have no idea how these idiots operated. This was a small company, 10 employees, I think the most we had while I was there was 12. The bosses brought their to us looking for answers. You gave them suggestions and they resented you for it because it wasn't what they were thinking when they never told you in the first place what they were thinking. Then they tell you their idea and usually it was god awful and we'd tell them that and they'd tell us to stick it where the sun dont shine.

The two partners that ran the business when I was let go had no experience in business, one was horribly passive aggressive, and the other one was very overtly aggressive, to the point where he'd take the slightest slight and run it into the ground. He spent 6 months on the phone with Samsung trying to get two monitors replaced with bigger monitors because the smaller ones were DOA thinking they owed him. He'd spend sometimes half a day on the phone. He did eventually get to the CEO of Samsungs NA distribution, but 6 ing months... How much did he cost the company doing that sort of ?

The only partner with any business experience and the one who actually was intelligent and had goals for the company that were realistic jumped ship cause he couldnt take the from the other two, that was a year or so before I was let go.

The reason they told ME they let me go is because after a client came back bitching about something that one of the partners had thrown me under the bus for I went out on a walk with some people from work like I had done every day for over a year and we bitched, and one of the employees I went with said that I was pissed at the partners. I was thrown under the buss because one of the partners had forgotten to tell me to do something, told the client he had told me, and then told the client I had forgot to do it, the ticket in the tracking system even proved that I was never told about it.

Anyway they let me go because "I could make other people that were unhappy with the company think about leaving." Not because of performance like they stated to the insurance board.

These guys were scumbags, it took me 6 months to get my back vacation pay from them! It was only like 1000$ and they fought tooth and nail every inch of the way.

I feel the same way. When he first posted a thread about it he was bragging about how his employer sucked and was asking about things he could do to get them to fire him and how he was getting back at them for treating him bad. This could have been a lie to make himself look strong but it showed to me that the act was premeditated. Would have been funny if I had cared enough to send it to the unemployment board.

It wouldn't surprise me if his employers/boss had a role to play and were dicks but almost everyone has to put up with something. Most ppl who don't like their job or employer start looking for a job while they're working and then leave once they get an offer. But not Nou, he loves playing the victim but I'm sure he's well versed at passive aggressive tactics. Also looks like he did the same with unemployment benefits, which are designed to give you income while you find another job, not a payout you milk for 9 month and then look for work after you've milked it to completion.

If they found out you were looking for a job you got fired anyways. One of the designers was looking for a new job and they found his resume online and almost fired him, but one of the lead developers had to step in and tell them they were being retarded.

IGK. I have followed every guideline that is set forth in the requirements for unemployment. I make 3 job contacts a week.

Find me where I said I was looking to get fired or shut the flying up.

Now that I think about it, I am pretty sure someone else made a thread just like that.

Infact I rarely even posted BEFORE I was fired. I was too stressed/depressed from work that I'd just come home and lay in front of the TV.

Should we commend you for fulfilling the minimum requirement in order to receive benefits? Are you that dumb that you can't hide from your employer your looking for another job? Or maybe unwilling to admit your own lethargy and lack of confidence was the real reason.

This line from the book I'm currently reading reminded me of you. "Success, after all, loves a witness, but failure can't exist without one"

Maybe my intent was to go back to school. Which I am doing. Idiot. Jesus, did you even read the first post in the thread? :conf:

Nou, I usually act a bit hostile to you in my replies to you, but i'm gonna be honest.

If you are serious about going back to school and improving your life, then go for it! There is nothing stopping you.

I was in a similar situation. I finished school and went in and out of jobs. I would start a college course or a new job and get scared about advancing or bored and quit. I managed to get a place on a foundation degree course. I remember my first day I was so scared because I was away from home and had spent £3200 on just the first year of this course that I threw up all morning. But I didn't back out, I kept focused even when I wanted to bail. I just kept on at it. When we started on the foundation we were told "If you try your hardest you might even manage a 2:1" (I guess thats the same as a B grade in a degree)...I'm now on track for a 1st class honours degree with options opening for a PhD afterwards.

I know this is a pretty ty pep talk, I guess what i'm trying to get across is that if you get your head down and apply yourself and challenge yourself not to quit, then your options are almost limitless. Your mind holds all possibilities.

If your intent was to go back to school why did you wait 9 months to do it? See my comment about you being a worthless leech. It's possible to take classes while working and for someone who brags about being so smart it shouldn't be that hard to do both.
