from his blog.
"and Sunday marks my return to Los Angeles for the first time since Together As One on New Year’s Eve, where I’ll be playing a special extended set at Avalon; a club I haven’t played at for a few years."
HELL YES! |

Has Markus actually played at Avalon before?
And how long is a special extended set down here? Still kinda used to four hour sets being the norm with Markus. |

i think he played there yearssss ago, when i didn't know what good music was. :)
it says 930-5....
im guessing 930-11 K. Skye, 11-1 Jarrel, 1-5 markus.
4 hours is extended set in la standards, but it's the norm for ruby skye. then again, avalon does stay open until the morning, so we'll see. |

Can't wait for this shizzzz... thx for the set times Kristina Sky. Looking forward to banging sets from all the DJs... but of course a 4 hr set from Markus is a damn treat!!!
PS: I'm not used to that as a norm at all; he played for 3 hrs at Avalon last year, and of course only gets 1.5 - 2 hrs at LA festivals. So this should be good. Some prog buildup tracks then insanity for the last hour, probably will play some of the tracks he dropped at MayDay this year (that set was super intense).
Gonna be on the lookout for new album tracks of course... |

Markus has played harder sets out on the west coast recently.
Last times I saw him up in SF (always four hours), he didn't mess around. He just brought it the whole four hours. No hour or two of progrier buildup.
Markus might go the progressive route during a good portion of it. I WILL PRAY HE DOES! (because I think that's when he's at his best). I think I'd die if he did...I love the GDJBs that are just dark and proggy. Rare these days. But I wouldn't go in expecting in given how his sets out here the last couple years have been.
Remeber Blake is playing before him and he'll prob take it a bit higher than say a local opener probably should. But we'll see! |

yea the last 2 times at SF, feb '10 and july '09, he banged it out the gates. I really hope he builds it up at Avalon....I really enjoy his set progression. |
