| Another incredible collection of works from BBC. I hate how the Discovery Channel has to have some ridiculous cunts like Oprah Winfrey and Sigorney Weaver to narrate instead of David Attenborough. I would gladly pay for the BBC version over the Discovery version, just to hear him narrate. |

| I also love how in this series, they have a portion at the end to show how they filmed some of these shots. I sometimes wonder how on earth they manage to get some of these incredible things on film. |

| Yesterday I did a trip to the Valdez Peninsula in Southern Argentina. It's one of only two known spots in the world where killer whales will intentionally beach themselves in order to catch seals lying on the shore. However, on any one day there's only a 3% chance of witnessing this. According to our guide, David Attenborough spent five years filming there in order to make an hour-long documentary. |

+1
The funny thing is...I've already seen this on Animal Planet with Attenborough narrating it. What's even worse is that Oprah is using the same script that Attenborough used. I was right pissed off last night when I watched the first two episodes.
The only reason they have Oprah doing this is so they can sell DVDs in North America |

| I hated Oprah narrating, but the stalk-eyed flies blew my mind. No pun intended. ;) |

And I was going to complain that they had Juanes narrating the Spanish version being shown in Latin America.

To discover channel
| quote: | | Why, in the case of Life and in the case of Planet Earth, among others, did Discovery channel decide it was a good idea to remove an amazing nature film-maker & narrator David Attenborough and replace it with Oprah and Sigorney Weaver respectively? I can understand trying to appease the neophytes living in this country, but it's absurd. David Attenborough is hands down THE voice of nature programming. It's an absolute sham that Discovery bastardized the narrations of such shows. This is why I purchased the BBC version of Planet Earth on dvd. *spits at your feet |
