That's not really what I had in mind when I made that comparison. What I mean to say is that they're concerned about how we should live our lives more than anything else. Isn't that what politicians do? Come up with laws to run the country?

Whether or not you like them is irrelevant - I'm both an atheist and (to a large extent) an anarchist. But how can you disagree with someone you can't even understand? You're talking past one another!

Ah, I see. You've been hit before, Lilith. It all makes sense now. This holier-than-thou bull routine you have going on all the ing time is a result of that. This routine that several TAs have specifically called you out on.

It all makes sense now.

When that doesn't work, they quickly resort to scaremongering to get you to believe them... there's enough passive-aggressive types in the world without giving them some half arsed justification to continue what they do.

Pretty good so far

I read this, and thought you were describing mormons, then I re-read and realized you were talking about politicians. The sad things is I agree with both, just swap mormons with politicians. At least that is my experience with mormonia. I live in a state with a fairly high concentration of mormons, and unfortunately most of my interactions with them are negative. Very nice at first, then I get invited to dinner, then acting sad when I tell them I am very happy with my chosen path (after I respectfully decline dinner), then saying I will never be truly happy, and it degenerates from there.
It is hard to respect their choice, when they do not respect mine.

You didn't even give her time to guess.
