Which is the best choice?

WAV is pretty much a waste of money and hard disk space unless you are some audio elitist.

wav can sound better for some trained ears. i consider myself having good ears but i cant actually hear the difference. i think its more when ur listening to classical, jazz and like acoustic stuff. for edm it doesnt matter much i think.

I notice the difference between high & low quality EDM more easily than that of classical or jazz.

Regardless, it depends on your audio output/speakers/etc.

Wasn't there some WAV vs. 320 mp3 kind of contest some time ago here on TA? I think even the elitists had to admit that the difference is at maximum very barely noticeable. Doesn't justify a much higher price and a lot bigger filesize for me.

Anyone who claims they can hear the difference is either lying to themselves or or has seriously top-end equipment and pristine ears.

Very true :)

theres real little difference i have even analyzed every wave of wav vs mp3 and it's 99'9% the same, only some sounds seem to be more clipped on 320k but you'd need to hear the same sound 20 times to finally conclude that you are not sure if there is a difference.

Agree on the 320 vs. loss less thing. I was speaking of 128 - VBR encoding vs. the higher end stuff.

But yeah, for the elitists & those who have the proper resources.

:p

Nah. Mostly I just use iTunes to rip my CDs I mostly have 256 anyways. Flac and WAV are overrated. Maybe some day hard drive space will be so cheap and amazing speakers / headphones will be as well, but for now 256 and 320 are fine for my ears.
