Wow, never thought I'd agree with 17ss on something, but yeah, this is all about first Amendment rights. If you want to express your patriotism in this country, then you should be able too on any day of the year.
I also think it's amusing that most here are quick to call the white students who wore the flag as racists, yet no one has mentioned that it might possibly be racist for the Asst. Vice Principal (Who is Mexican), to have the boys sent home due to their attire. Do I believe in either scenario? No. But I thought I'd put it out there. Just because the Mexicans won one famous battle against the French doesn't mean we all have to be sporting nothing but Mexican colors on that day. |

We get this in the UK too. You can't wear a cross for fear of offending a muslim.
Celebrating St Georges day is all but ing banned.
There will be a back lash at some time I'm certain. |

-were these kids trolling and trying to give a middle finger to mostly-latino population at that school? yes.
-do they have a right to be s without getting suspended? yes. |

So children should be allowed to be s without getting punished? You're going to be one hell of a good parent. |

So you argue that they're being s but then say that they should be allowed to be s in an academic setting. By this logic, students should be able to wear nothing but Speedos to school - because they would also be expressing themselves, freely. |

| if the argument here is that it was done to avoid violence, that's not good enough. punish the potential victim of a crime, to try to prevent it from happening? let's just throw scantily-clad women in jail, because someone might rape them. hey, we could even whip or torture them! oh, wait... |

| As an Englishman, I've never heard of Cinco de Mayo. So all I can say is that it sounds like a sandwich. And that the original poster is a retard. |
